Killing Bigfoot Update

Killing Bigfoot, the Series, coming to Destination America Channel early, 2016 in the USA and Travel & Escape Channel in Canada. GCBRO is a group of lifelong woodsman and subsistence hunters with a respect for the sustainability of the forest and wildlife: who are seeking a voucher specimen- which Science demands for proof of any new species. These are professionals: from the tech world, engineering, national guard, geology and law enforcement. This single specimen to be taken, will be a “nuisance” animal- a Bigfoot currently said to be harassing people and eating their farm animals/pets. Only mature males will be considered as the specimen needed to prove to the world that these creatures are real. Then steps would be taken to create preserves for the remaining Bigfoot creatures in America…believed by the team, to be in the thousands. DNA evidence is notoriously open to interpretation and contamination, and tranquilizers only work on large mammals, when previously tested on specimens and correct dosages/steps are taken to adjust for size and weight…this is currently unknown and therefore dangerous and not practical.

And yet, there are detractors: the no-kill group who believe Bigfoot is human-like and should only be communicated with, from afar and be left alone: they will have their day and will be heard loud and clear in the series. The search for Bigfoot – is perhaps one of the greatest mysteries of the world- and many theories abound about its origins and just what it is. As yet, there is no physical proof of Sasquatch, nothing that scientists will believe…and therefore all laws concerning the removal of a Bigfoot are mere speculation. Watch the series as we seek the truth and meet the people in the Southern States who are on the trail of a very elusive quarry: a very different Bigfoot- fast, sleek and at times aggressive and running on all fours.

So, I’m guessing this puts a damper on the conspiracy theory that the government involved in covering up bigfoot to protect the logging and oil industry considering the show is happening and coming to TV. Or maybe they’re confident no such specimen will be caught…

I go back and forth on the kill/no kill scenario.

Some days I think–a body would blow this thing wide open and solve the whole thing (to which the scoftics are laughing because they don’t think there’s a body to be had–just hallucinations and dancing bears).

And other times I think, why do we have to kill the crap out of something just to prove it’s there.

I wrestle with this topic a lot. I’ll let you know when I get off the fence…

No fence for me. Killing one bigfoot to satisfy the skeptics will only open the door to killing more bigfoots, by trophy hunters, scientists, etc..

Creating preserves for bigfoot will only lead to illegal hunting and poaching of them. Bigfoot is best left as a myth. If someone is lucky enough to witness one, that is a gift, the rest of us can wonder or doubt or believe but it won’t change reality, whatever that may be… killing an innocent creature like a Bigfoot on live tv and blowing it all wide open is a bad idea. Doubt is the best witness protection program we can hope for Bigfoot’s future survival.

I am now going to write the Destination America Channel and share my thoughts with them.

    aaronlife,

Yes, I hear what you’re saying, and you’re right. Killing a Bigfoot opens a Pandora’s box that can’t be closed. And in the great scheme of things it may well cause more harm than good.

And yes, part of my reasoning for leaning toward getting that body is selfish: I’d love to put the question to rest, and part of me wants to shove the proof in some scoftic’s face to say, “hah! Told you.”

And that’s not the proper attitude either. It’s that human side that comes into play every now and again.

And you’re right–again–because I believe there is a hairy walking hominid/primate/something out there. There’s too many sightings each and every single year, too many footprint casts, hair samples and other anecdotal evidence to ignore. And nothing anyone else says will convince me otherwise—they’d have to come up with some proof to the negative explaining all of those sightings and secondary pieces of evidence, which they haven’t been able to do.

It’s just there are those days where I want to know for sure, without a doubt. Personally, I’ve never had a sighting or encounter (I don’t think–there was one incident at night when I was in college, but I never saw a creature, but something screamed at me from the woods and to this day I have no clue what it was), and if I had an encounter, I might well drop away from the kill camp altogether. I don’t know.

I’m just being honest–that I go back and forth. Maybe not for the best of reasons, but for honest reasons. I believe in the idea that a Bigfoot should be free to do its thing . . . but on the other hand, I do think it’s a matter of time before Bigfoot is proved in some way or other. There are more and more people in the wastelands and backwoods. Maybe it’s inevitable that we solve the issue for good or ill, but I appreciate your perspective.

It’s posts like this that keep me from climbing off the fence for the wrong reasons.

    SHJ
