I appreciate the effort put into these analysis videos, although the narration always seems rushed (my advice would be to write out a script before editing the videos-allowing for measured pauses in the video to accommodate the information being presented in voice over). However, if this is one of the best videos we have, then it illustrates how terrible the current population of videos are. I really can’t make out all the things that are being pointed out, such as the palm and the brow ridge, and the thumb – perhaps the use of arrow indicators would help. How does one pick out such detail and confirm it is not a digital artifact? How do we know that Sasquatches process things “10 times faster” than humans?

Intriguing video overall, but not convincing evidence. None of the things that are pointed out are clear – they could be explained away as a result of misinterpretation or “seeing what you want to see.”

  2. Loren Coleman responds:

I would add that the narrator naturally is biased if he is using and framing this tape only in terms of “Sasquatch/Bigfoot.”

All animal species must be viewed in context, and due to the alleged location of this footage, we must ask if this is:

    (1) a feral anthropoid ape,
    (2) a Skunk Ape, and/or
    (3) a non-Sasquatch, non-human primate?

Or is it someone in a costume, even?

  3. Boreal Man responds:

Erratic camera operation at all the key points where it seems that the subject would be best “revealed” always raises concern.
Understood that if real, anxiety would be high, and camera operation difficult, still gives one cause for concern.
Nevertheless, always exciting to see such clips.

  4. flame821 responds:

Why the strange editing blips? The first one is around 0:58 on the analysis video.

Once again, nothing that you can make a definitive identification on and the analysts is reading FAR too much into the video. When you interpret the evidence you are to deal only in fact, not assign motive or emotions to the subject when you have no basis for these aside from projection.

Also calloused palms? Really? Their monitor must be truly amazing to be giving them this sort of detail. Getting up from a sitting position without using its hands or kneeling first, is that really such a spectacular thing? Most teens and 20’s can do this, particularly if their backs are resting against a tree OR (more likely) they weren’t actually sitting but crouching as this figure appears to be. The tip-toe walk is odd though I haven’t seen anything so pronounced in any of the other Bigfoot video clips.

I would also like a more detailed account of the men who took the video as the one fellow looked as though he was less than 30 feet from the animal at one point. Was further evidence (physical evidence like hair or anything from where the animal was resting) recovered? What did it sound like, smell like, etc.

  5. shownuff responds:

I love the break down of these videos by this person. I do agree that he should write a script though. I have pretty much seen all of his videos and they all seem the same. Not the footage. Just the narrating part of it. But I do appreciate the fact that he does this. I think its cool. I have seen alot of video and picture stills where people draw circles and claim there is something is there. And pretty much leave me scratching my head. This guy does not do that. I checked out Myyaka State park. Awesome cabins and really affordable. Really old Forest. I am going to rent one. And take my HD cam. Would be cool to catch something.

  6. Richard888 responds:

Even though the analyst doesn’t spend any time analyzing the identity of the creature and assumes Sasquatch right away, the rest of his narration sounds scientific and is very helpful to the viewer.

The fact that he points out details that are not apparent on Youtube makes me think that he bases his narrations on high resolution video versions that when uploaded on Youtube get downsampled and corrupted in terms of quality.

If this is true then his work would improve if he used a dedicated server for the original HD versions and only Youtube for marketing. Short demo versions can be uploaded on Youtube with a watermark saying ‘for more details visit ‘www.hdwebsite.com’.

As for the video, my personal gut feeling is that it shows a real Sasquatch. The creature’s neck and shoulders remind me of other Sasquatch clips and the pattern of movement does not seem human. I am glad that Cryptomundo posted this.

  7. Hapa responds:

I’m almost at the point to where I will not even look at videos anymore. They are useless in species recognition, something that we need.

We don’t need this Youtube Crypto-porn. We need physical remains.

  8. mandors responds:

I trail run, and there’s nothing like the feeling you get when you spook an animal. All of a sudden you’re going along and bang! a deer runs out or a coyote. I can’t imagine what stumbling across an eight foot tall humanoid figure would be like. I’m sometimes surprised that these people can stay and work the camera at all.

In terms of the narration, I have to disagree with the others. I like the informal nature of the analysis. It seems to fit the off the cuff nature of the videos. The last thing I want to hear is the new car sales delivery of a Discovery or History Channel narrator but that’s personal preference.

  9. choppedlow responds:

You guys like this “groups” breakdowns? Are you guys nuts? Facebook Finding Bigfoot is a marketing group, not experts on “sasquatch anatomy”. In his (their) own words, they have a six point business plan for their page. If you ask me, it’s to throw as much poo as they can at the subject, and see what they can make stick. These breakdowns are down right insulting! “Look how the light glistens on the fur! Thats no costume people!” is one of his favorite saying. How would anyone know? Did they find one and keep it locked in their office? They have confessed hoaxes on their top video list, and will never admit they are wrong. They make common sense an endangered species! I un-clicked the “like” button long ago, when they decided to tackle bigfoots place in evolution….even though it hasn’t been proven to be a real animal. Move over Biscardi and Standing, these guys are trying hard to make you guys look like rational men!

  10. fossilhunter responds:

It looks very human-sized to me.

  11. Ulysses responds:

Go to the zoo and see how the Orangutang or the Gorilla gets up and compare it to this video. Primates are ” top heavy” meaning they carry most of their weight towards their shoulders. The moment I saw the “Ape” get up, I knew it was a person in a suit. Oh, the old days when only a select few had cameras and weren’t trying to garner a few moments of limelight for stupidities sake. Try better next time people. This video was OUTED the first 2 seconds.

  12. WVBotanist responds:

My first impression is that it is impossible for me to make out any real detail of the subject without a lot of imagination. But then, on one paused section, showing the cupped hand, if I squinted just right it looked like a baby elephant’s head. Of course, that was out of context.

It struck me that the important question of costumed human vs unknown primate wasn’t addressed nearly as much as pointing out a lot of blurry features that could easily be added to a human form via costume…

So, I got bored and thought only in terms of things I am fairly familiar with. Albeit blurry, there was not a palmetto in sight. A surprising thing to find in a ‘palmetto grove’ near Myakka City. Instead, I saw a readily identifiable Red maple (Acer rubrum), wild coffee (Psychotria nervosa) and likely false nettle (Boehmeria cylindrica) ground cover. If you are near Myakka City and see these plants, you are likely in a swamp fringe, and nowhere near (relatively) palmetto. If it was actually filmed in May, that corresponds to the near peak of the dry season in Myakka City and the vegetation seems a little bit too lush; the long awaited summer rains have not hit yet by May. Not sure that has a lot of meaning, just seems a bit out of place.

But, in contrast to the original Myakka Skunk Ape photos (which were presumably taken a long way from Myakka City – in that they showed a likely escaped orangutan from much further downstream along the Myakka as is winds its way to Charlotte Harbor, near the Ringling Circus wintering grounds), palmetto fronds were in frame, same depth as the animal, and provided a nice comparison for scale.

In that overall context, it looks like a hoax to me, and was tagged with the Myakka name to capitalize on name recognition.

  13. eyeofstrm responds:

Hoax, Hoax, Hoax. If you buy this I would love to sell you the property it was filmed on.

  14. Opalman responds:

Being from the Charlotte Harbor area and having lived here for fifteen years, I find this video of special interest.

I am very familiar with the area in question the headwaters of the Myakka River (Myakka City) are only 30 miles or so from my residence. I have kayaked the Myakka Park extensively and agree with the above poster that the location is not in a palmetto grove. The lushness typified in the video could still be possible in May if the sighting was near the river. 2010 saw early wet weather with 8.4 inches of rain in June. The actual video location seems to be well south–southwest of Myakka city undoubtedly very near the river. I have been planning an expedition into the upper Myakka for a couple of years now. Ill health caused a postponement but at this time were on schedule again with an expanded set of specific goals and new yet untried methods.

After looking at this video many, many times I agree it could be a hoax…but it could just as easily be the real deal too. The video is just not clear enough to tip the scale one way or another. I have a friend who has told me of (3) incredibly loud screams heard while fishing with her boyfriend in the upper Myakka. She tells me that she experienced immediate nausea and paralyzing dread while she was hearing the screams (she literally could not paddle the kayak) with the fear feelings persisting for 30 minutes after leaving the area and while driving home. Her boyfriend was not so affected as she was but experienced a very discernible uneasiness. I know my friend is not fabricating this report as I have known her well for a long time.

  15. Opalman responds:

I don’t for the life of me understand how people can view this video and immediately cry “hoax”! How do they back up these proclamations, with are they seeing that I am not? On what do they base such claims?

Maybe their just spouting off…just running their mouths sorta speak.

  16. shownuff responds:

I agree. Calling everything a hoax is not cool. I am really going to Myakka. I’m so excited. I bought a pair of 3rd night vision goggles. Wish everyone a happy new year.

  17. InsanityJ responds:

why would whatever this is walk towards the camera instead of walking away from it doesn’t make sence to me
