Scranton Police Officer Claims Encounter with Big Foot in McDade Park “Exclusive Picture”

A Scranton Police Officer claims that he had a encounter with Bigfoot in McDade Park in Lackawanna County Pennsylvania this past week.

My name is Scranton Police Officer Xxxxx Xxxxx and I am an eight year veteran, so please keep my name out.

A few days ago I was driving in patrol toward McDade Park in Scranton PA. It was late at night I was just checking the park making sure all was ok and I just noticed a very dark object leaning over the edge of the road near the pool as I drove pass.

I passed extremely close to the object-close enough for me to feel shocked to see a large hairy section of well muscled leg and a big hairy wrist and hand as the creature turned I screamed and grabbed my cell to snap a pic and my gun. I slammed on the brakes and I was ready to shoot I’m combat trained, I have a weapon, I just had to see what the hell it was!I wanted to see the entire thing for myself – but what can I say. Whatever it was for me either was a monkey a huge one or a bigfoot I am not going public with this because it would cost me my job. There is something in that park I heard stories of something roaming the park late at night.

Bigfoot in a city park, huh ? OK, how do we know this is a police officer sending this in instead of some hoaxer? He’s afraid for his job? Good, I can understand that. But without proof this claim is worthless. And oh yes, the picture is blurry. How convenient.

  2. Goodfoot responds:

Pore Bigfoot ain’t got no pool pass…

  3. cryptokellie responds:

I believe this is a hoax.
The image is completely blurry both subject and background which is not typical of today’s cell phone imagery.
The figure looks very much like an ape/Wookie costume with the classic muzzle area on the face.
The figure is not broad shouldered. Wide shoulders are a Bigfoot hallmark.
Unless the officer is ex-military, the officer would not be saying “combat trained”. Regular police officers are trained to subdue perps at close range which is not termed combat training. Regular police officers are taught to be in control of situations and not to use force unless absolutely necessary.
My nephews are police officers and they don’t talk the way the above narrative unfolds. The last thing an officer would do would be to encounter an unknown with cell phone drawn, grabbing for his/her weapon.
I believe this is a hoax.

the park does bump up against a heavily wooded mountain(part of the appalachian mountains),and there have been sightings over the years,on both east and west mountains, but i don’t believe this story,as i live only 5 miles from there and it’s the 1st time i’m hearing of it,and nothing mentioned on the local news or the like.

  5. Goodfoot responds:

cryptokellie: I don’t know where you live, but here in the USA, the militarization of police has reached an incredible level. They refer to us as “civilians”, learn military techniques. A SWAT raid on a bad-address tipoff has cops arriving in armored personnel carriers, in full battle regalia: “Ooops, sorry wrong address! Sorry we shot your kid and your little dog. I’m a dog lover myself; can I have his dog food?”

Well, that was a lie; they DON’T apologize.

Just to play devil’s advocate with the blurry pic (though I think it’s bogus, too): if it were a cell phone pic taken from a long distance, both “Bigfoot” and foliage would be blurry, due to extreme magnification. Details would be lost in the pixelation.

  6. zigoapex responds:

sorry,i’m not buying this, not even for a for a wooden nickel.

  7. Spookysr responds:

It is my understanding that recent DNA profiling of BIGFOOT organic scat artifacts have proven that these creatures are MODERN HUMANS and not any hybrid ape/human. Also recent killings of BF by car and maybe gunshot also have proven that they are humans in hair-suits. Now why would a tall muscular human don a hair-suit (sniper’s gillie suit?)? How about doing so to scare off snoops, hikers, campers, and looky-lous from a major criminal enterprise in the woods adjacent to his perimeter-wanderings?

What major criminal enterprise could afford such an elaborate operational security feature such as a fake bigfoot character (i.e. woodland security guard)? How about the Mexican Narcotics Cartel growing product in north American forests? How about American illegal ethanol producers running stills? The Scranton PA PD should notify federal DEA and ATF of a possible illegal operations in their venue in McDade Park. Also PSP can fly over park with FLIR to spot any illegal fires for stills or camo nets used to hide cannabis patches.

Also dogs could be used to find cannabis, ethanol, or even a large human who has not bathed in a few days and does not hide his scat very well. Search teams can call out with megaphones that they know he’s out there and that lethal force will be used if needed. Let the dogs run loose too. He’ll come running out soon enough.

Live with it folks we are NOT related to apes (98% DNA study was faulty and wrong). There are NO ape/human hybrids. Bigfoot is NOT a missing link. Bigfoot is NOT real. Never was. Is just a clever hoax to hide crimiinal enterprises in the woods.

  8. cryptokellie responds:

    Goodfoot;
I live in Pennsylvania, USA. My oldest nephew served in the military with a tour in Iraq and came home to become a police office in the town where he lived – in New Jersey, USA. Swat Teams are small specially trained officers who are called upon to deal with high-risk situations. They receive extra training in tactics and at times use military grade equipment and weaponry when the situation calls for it. The average officer is trained to be in control of low to medium-risk situations and call for back up or support when needed. Technically the police, having not subscribed to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, are in fact civilians. Civil servants would be more accurate.
The number of ex-military members who become police officers has led the slang practice of referring to the public at large as civilians. As with any organized group, the police are only as good as their information. They are also human and make mistakes, sometimes with bad judgement. I am 64 years old and have never had a problem with the police forces in the many places that I have lived. This is entirely because I don’t do any crimes…of any kind. I’m not sure what your problems with the police are…
Back to crypto-stuff. I believe this story is phony and the photo is of a person in a costume. Any extreme magnification of this image was probably to crop out any surrounding giveaway details.
Any real officer could easily be found out by log-ins and reports and GPS which all police vehicles now have, most of which is available to the public upon proper request, excluding criminal-court information. Certainly not the case here.

  9. hudgeliberal responds:

PURE HOAX!!!!!!!!!!!!! So tired of the pics that are so blurry and terrible. No wonder we are all looked upon as psychopaths, freaks and kooks. We must stop giving publicity unless it is a pic that could actually have merit. This…just a terrible fake. Peace folks.

  10. upton0077 responds:

McDade park is not owned by the city of Scranton. It is owned by Lackawanna County. The city police do not patrol this park. It is patrolled by the County Sheriffs department. A city policeman would not be driving through to patrol this park.
