Silverton Colorado Bigfoot Photo: A Closer Look

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 20th, 2015

Michael Merchant looks at the Silverton Colorado Bigfoot Photo.

Finally a Giant Bigfoot running away from a Train. This doesn’t happen everyday people. ;P

Who took this photo? When was it taken? Are there more photos? These questions and more are asked in under 3 mins as Michael examines the Bigfoot running from the train in Colorado.

Thoughts on this? Listed as a *famous* Colorado Bigfoot. First time I have ever heard of it. I extracted a human being from the train in the background and pasted him next to the *Bigfoot*. If it is a hoax, they did their homework.

  1. sasquatch responds:

Yep, my questions exactly…I would like to call out para skeptic or whatever his name is to give his 2 cents worth…The scale issue he addressed with the Yellowstone figure(s) would be valuable here…

  2. PhotoExpert responds:

I’m sorry to tell you, your aspect ratios are way off! You are trying, rather unsuccessfully, to take an approximately tall 6 ft. figure in the background of the photo and then compare it directly to the size of the subject in the foreground. You are making a direct comparison. It does not work that way my friend.

When taking photographs, due to the configuration of standard lenses and zoom lenses, the foreground subject will always appear larger or taller in this case than the background subject. Even if they are the same height, the foreground subject will always appear larger or taller, no matter how you cut it.

Taking into account the distance the subject in the train is from the foreground subject, I did the measurements and both subjects are the same relative height, give or take 6 inches.

This is the problem in the cryptozoological community–junk science by novices with a little knowledge in some field and then trying to act like experts. When in fact, their information, calculations, and their lack of understanding of optical physics, gets them into trouble.

ThinkerThunker is guilty of this and now we have another, namely Michael Merchant. It looks like a normal human walking by the river and by the way, taking in a beautiful view of the river and passing train. This is why people hike in the first place. In addition, both ThinkerThunker and Michael Merchant are more concerned about their views and followers. Notice how ThinkerThunker always brings this up. And voila, another comes in and boasts about his 5,000 plus followers.

These type of narcissists are more concerned about their followers and proclaiming things that are untrue based on bad science. Just another case of someone trying to increase their follower count. Or why bring it up in the video in the first place?

Refuted! It is a person hiking!

And Michael, why aren’t the people in the train taking photos of the subject or why have there been no other photos forthcoming? To answer your question, there is nothing special about a person walking beside a river on a hike. That is why! In addition, the person who took this photo and also the hiker in the photo, would then be in the photograph from a person taking a photo from the train. And they do not want two people showing up in a beautiful scenic. It would ruin an otherwise nice shot.

End of conversation! You are your junk science presented to increase your follower numbers have been dismissed! But good try!

Oh, and if you disagree with my assessment, please feel free to post a comment and we can debate it right here in Cryptomundo like gentlemen. I have no problem with that–I just have a problem with junk science.
