Deep in the Louisiana swamp lives a legend. In the fall of 2012, the legend comes to life. Many have seen, some have heard, and none have forgotten: the giant hairy creature with glowing red eyes that locals refer to as the Caddo Lake Creature.

When the long dormant Bigfoot monster seemingly begins a brutal reign of terror, glamorous talk show host, Anna, must leave her highly coveted position to search for her sister Megan, a Bigfoot researcher, in the swampy wilderness of northern Louisiana. She reluctantly enlists the aid of her former boyfriend and his father, two of the world’s most respected Bigfoot research scientists, a Native American shaman, and Cajun swamp guide Gator.
Separated from the others during the exhaustive search for Megan, Anna ends up alone in the swamp, with only the fading light of her cell phone to guide the way. Ultimately, she must confront her own worst nightmare to find her sister and provide the key to ending the massive carnage, and face down the most dangerous creature known to man.

I’m not sure what Skookum, a Chinook word from the Pacific Northwest has to do with a lake monster in Louisiana/Texas swamps known as the Caddo Lake Monster or “Cypress Cindy” of all things. This was a fifteen to twenty foot long lake monster, not a hairy Bigfoot or Sasquatch entity that was seen in the lake during the 1960s. The film’s trailer shows a person being taken by a large alligator type creature so I guess we’re blending some legends here. The lake is known for having up to ten foot long alligator gar in it though.

Well, this one looks to be equally as bad as the other low budget Bigfoot movies as of late. I haven’t seen Bobcat’s film so I exclude that from the aforementioned group. If the trailer makes you want to NOT SEE a movie, there’s a problem. Trailers normally have all the best parts and this one doesn’t seem to have any. 😀
