I’ve already mentioned the film here, run the trailer, and frankly told you I am a shameless big pre-fan of the forthcoming movie 10,000 B.C.. Now I’m happy to announce some more insights about the film and, for those paying close attention, some cool movie promotion giveaways you can get exclusively through Cryptomundo. From director Roland Emmerich comes a sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophecies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth.

In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter, D’Leh (Steven Strait), has found his heart’s passion – the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). When a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D’Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her.

Driven by destiny, the unlikely band of warriors must battle saber-tooth tigers and prehistoric predators and, at their heroic journey’s end, they uncover a Lost Civilization. Their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies. Here they will take their stand against a powerful god who has brutally enslaved their people.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. Quacker1 responds:

    Does anyone have the name of the book this movie was possibly based on? The one about the pre-Egyptian civilization?

  2. Ceroill responds:

    You mean there’s only one book about a pre Egyptian civilization? I could have sworn there were a plethora of them.

  3. Quacker1 responds:

    Well, I remember someone mentioning one book in particular, relating to this movie, about a pre-Egyptian civilization that lived in Egypt, and were actually the ones who built the great pyramids and the Sphinx.

  4. jayman responds:

    One book on a pre-Egyptian civilization is “Land of Osiris” by Stephen Mehler. He calls the civilization “Khemitian” after the ancient Egyptians’ name for their land.

    It is a little distressing that the builders of civilization always seem to be cast as villians in these films.

  5. sschaper responds:

    ‘those mammoths are, well, mammoth. Twice as high as the real thing, it seems.

  6. Dragonheart responds:

    @sschaper:

    Well, the poster is only a teaser poster, I doubt that the mammoth’s will be THAT big ony screen.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
