Vote for One Wonder: Bigfoot/Yeti

Disney Yeti

Yeti and Bigfoot need your help!

The second round of voting at the Charles Fort Institute for the Seven Fortean Wonders of the World ends on Friday, December 21, 2007.

There are a final 38 candidates, and after a quick registration (your name and country), you may vote once in this round.

I made a mistake by skipping the first round, waiting for the field to be narrowed. The location of Loch Ness did not make it through that round. I thought “Loch Ness” would be a natural, but I was busy with other matters. My fault. I was the fool on the hill to not vote in that round, especially since my suggestion inspired the idea of the list.

Since this creating of the Seven Fortean Wonders of the World turned out to not just be about locations, but also about things, I am now going to vote for “Bigfoot/Yeti” so that at least one cryptozoological wonder makes it to the final list.

Also, I am only going to register one vote for “Bigfoot/Yeti.”

Why not vote for seven choices, you ask?

It’s an old trick in poll voting that if you make your one true selection, and then go ahead, half-heartedly voting for the others merely to get all “seven” (in this case) of your votes, you actually are voting against your primary choice.

Therefore, I am voting just for “Bigfoot/Yeti” on the following list for the “Seven Fortean Wonders of the World“:

Area 51
Avebury
Baalbek
Forbidden City
Giza
The Zone of Silence
Machu Pichu
Oak Island
Plain of Jars
Point Pleasant
Rennes le Chateau
Roswell
Stonehenge
Teotihuacan

As of the morning of December 20th, only 63 individuals had voted. Here are the Seven Fortean Wonders of the World poll results breakdown. As you can see, your vote for “Bigfoot/Yeti” can make a big difference in saving these hominoids from extinction from the list. Voting on the choices for this round ends tomorrow.

It’s the power of suggestion. Let’s see if it really works.

Lorrrren, Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Museum.

  3. red_pill_junkie responds:

Sorry Loren, but I have to be consistent. I voted for Teotihuacán the first time and I gotta stick with my decision –you know, national pride and all that 🙂

But don’t worry, the influence of Cryptomundo is beginning to show! The question now is if Bigfoot/Yeti will get the crown of #1 or not.

  4. Mnynames responds:

Wow, one vote amongst all those candidates, that’s a tough call. To make it even tougher, a lot of those items come down to a question of belief or conviction due to a lack of information. Were the Belmez faces faked? They certainly don’t look “real”, but that doesn’t mean they were drawn by conventional means. Is the Piri Reis Map a hoax, what really happened at Roswell, and does Area 51 hold anything stranger than military black projects? I’d sure hate to vote for something that later turned out to have a disappointingly mundane explanation.

Probably best to go with the sure thing, as we all know there’s more than enough evidence for the big guy’s existence. Admiral Radford would hang me from the yardarm, but thankfully, I don’t sail in his fleet.

Vote Bigfoot! Vote Big. Vote Now. (Honestly, I’m surprised he’s not running for President)…

  5. dabode responds:

It was kinda tough but I had to vote for Bigfoot/Yeti also cause Mnynames made a really valid point.

  6. Imaginary Friend responds:

I voted for Bigfoot – now the big guy has 35% of the vote! 🙂

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
