Canadians Claim To Have Solved Sasquatch Mystery: Update

Posted by: Loren Coleman on May 18th, 2011

The Erickson Project team member Randy Brisson discusses the circumstances of how he obtained some of his materials for the upcoming, 2011 landmark documentary on Sasquatch with the grandfather of Hominology, Dr. Igor Burtsev from Moscow Russia. Igor recently toured British Columbia for 3 weeks.

What’s the video about? Apparently this is about the Brisson photo, see below:

{The image has been removed because Ray Brisson claims that the Russians and other sites infringed on his copyrights. He apparently does not wish for the image to be examined, even for critique purposes. He also says the image was taken in 2009, not 2010, as incorrectly reported by Pravda.}

The Brisson image. Pravada, 2.25.10.

A Canadian researcher managed to take a picture of the face of the legendary hairy giant – the mascot of the Winter Olympic Games 2010.

Randy Brisson, a well-known Canadian cryptozoologist, shared hot information with his Russian colleagues. The researcher sent a photograph of the North American Bigfoot to Igor Burtsev and Dmitry Bayanov, the directors of the International Center for Hominology. The Canadian took the picture of the creature in Vancouver, the capital of Winter Games 2010.

Brisson assured his Russian colleagues that it was a photo of the legendary Bigfoot, or Sasquatch. The popularity of the mythical creature has won it the honor to become a symbol and a mascot of Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Mr. Brisson’s photo may mean that the mascots ramble somewhere in the woods of the Olympic city.

The Canadian cryptozoologist said that he had seen a Sasquatch peeking out from behind a huge stub in the woods near Pitt Lake. The spot, where the creature was supposedly photographed, is quite far from sports objects.

Randy and his son Ray found big tracks on the snow along a hauling road. The footprints were quite big – it was obvious that they had been left by an adult creature. There were smaller footprints found nearby too.

The toes on the feet of both the adult and the youngster were pathologically angled to one side. The researcher claimed that the creatures were breeding since he had found the footprints of both a parent and a baby.

Mr. Brisson also said in his message to the Russian researchers that he and his son decided not to trace the couple because the creatures, when trying to escape, were throwing rocks at them.

An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. Looks like the Patterson film when it turns around and looks at the camera.

  2. manticora responds:

Wow, this “Sasquatch” looks as Ewok-like as the one in the Silvanic-footage.

  3. Cass_of_MPLS responds:

You know how you can tell when there’s a Neanderthal waiting for the bus with you?

He’s the one looking at the wheels and going “What the????”

  4. shownuff responds:

I seen this video a couple days ago. I like the story behind it so far. I guess he filmed all of them? Lets see when that Doc comes out.

  5. Mibs responds:

Bring me the head of Alfredo BigPedo!

  6. seamonkeychar responds:

I keep seeing discussions about these photos focusing, as this video does, on how tall BF would or would not be based on the angle of the photo or where the BF was standing behind the stump. But from what I saw of the Steenburg (sp?) visit there, it doesn’t matter. There are rather large, raised roots behind the stump. All a researcher would have to do to be behind the stump in that exact location and appear taller would be to stand on the roots. On the other hand, BF could do the exact same thing. We have no idea how he was standing behind the stump. Was he on the roots? Was he crouched down? Was he riding a hovercraft? We have no idea, there is no evidence, and so focusing on the BF’s height does nothing to prove or disprove that there was actually a BF in the photo.

What I find more interesting is the fact that the BF’s face is the exact same, position wise, in both photos. His head does not change in angle at all, even though Brisson apparently changed position between the two pictures. I don’t buy these photos at all.

  7. wildmaiden responds:

Take a look at the “blink animation” presented here.

The figure in the photos looks extremely out of place, it just feels very unnatural.

  8. whiteriverfisherman responds:

He was that close, had a camera and did not try to get more shots? Why didn’t he walk over there and verify what he thought he was seeing? Sorry I am not buying this at all. Hope I am wrong but I think this is a hoax.

  9. trailriderresearch responds:

I think it’s likely that this being in the photograph series, is a hybrid human/sasquatch. There have been many missing people in South Western British Columbia in the last century. Including two hikers whom vanished with out a trace 100 miles north of here last summer.

Photo evidence of something that doesn’t conform to what a Squatch is expected to look like is especially difficult to accept for those who profess to be Squatch experts, yet have never seen one.

Even if this being is not your classic Sasquatch, these relic cavemen/squatch hybrids exist in this area and leave many tracks. See my video showing a trackway and numerous baby Sasquatch prints shot 7 km from the stump site.

they are 21st century cavemen really, and come in a variety of forms, continent wide

  10. whiteriverfisherman responds:

“I think it’s likely that this being in the photograph series, is a hybrid human/sasquatch.”

    Uh, ok? shhhhhh….Everyone……RUN!!

  11. seamonkeychar responds:

What exactly are you implying trailrider? What does a possible hybrid have to do with missing humans? Are the Squatches kidnapping them and using them for breeding purposes?

  12. Greg102 responds:

he must’ve borrowed todd standing’s stupid puppet head for a quick photo. this is so not even close to being real or convincing. i guess this tells you all you need to know about the erickson project. landmark failure in my eyes.

  13. DWA responds:

Um, not wanting to horn in on anybody spiking the football or anything.

But somebody brought back a movie over 40 years ago that kills this.

When is this field going to stop giving crap like this headlines? No wonder mainstream science doesn’t take it seriously. It’s not being allowed to.

  14. weaponx88 responds:

I see the photo was removed…….seemed a bit fake to me anyways. It really resembled those pictures of them guys from the circus that were extremely hairy from that genetic disorder. I think they called one of them “wolf boy”. The picture looked NOTHING like what the Generic Sasquatch photos posted everywhere.
Maybe that’s what the canadians were going for and it just made it look fake to me.

  15. sniniq responds:

    Okay…for those who don’t know…

Brisson is NOT a team member of the Erickson Project. His name is no where on the webpage and he’s certainly not listed under ‘team members’. Check and see. Secondly, Brisson is a known hoaxer. He’s been caught red handed by some very experienced and well respected researchers. Ask around. Thirdly, Bruce MacDonald (aka trailriderresearch) is a complete nut-case who’s delusional and extremely gullible. He’s one of a few that Brisson has hoaxed. See trailriderresearch’s “rock throwing video”. Bruce still to this day thinks a bigfoot was throwing rocks at him when in actuality it was Brisson who had fallen back. He did the exact same trick to others, only they were wise and caught him doing it. MacDonald isn’t quite that intelligent and believes that bigfoots can make themselves invisible, that they’re connected with UFOs and that they speak fluent Japanese. Ask anyone who attended the 2006 BFRO Coastal BC Expedition. Everyone walked away saying the same thing, Bruce is a whack-job. This is more hokum folks. Don’t let these fools dupe you.

  16. shownuff responds:

I am not sure if we can still post on this but since its still on I guess I am taking it as a yes. I wanted to comment on on the fact that trail never went behind the stump and follow Igor. I saw a video today of them claiming they were getting rocks thrown at them. Its their newest one. They leave yogurt. One thing that gets me is leaving food behind that is garbage. I know yogurt tastes good, but I don’t think these NAPES can take eating such things. Hate to be a keyboard warrior but if they are trying to get them to be friends or to trust them then why give them something that’s going to mess their stomachs up. Leave like some fish behind or mint leaves. They would understand that better. Even a chimp will get that. Keep showing the peace offering and one day establish a relationship. It surprises me that people with that much time to be out in the woods can be that dumb. Common sense should tell all s called Bigfoot researchers don’t try to humanize these NAPES. You didn’t see RIP Dian Fossey giving Gorillas Pizzas and Tacos. So what I am saying is even though the videos of these people are very beautiful in 1080p, that’s about all the credit I give them. I think even Dr. Igor is starting to feel he is being scammed. Its like this Produce or keep it to yourself. And don’t feed Garbage to NAPES. Its not like they can recycle the plastic. Are you guys also going to give them Pepto Bismol also.. Goodness. Sorry for the rant Mr. Loren. Please approve this. Let this comment be heard.

  17. Mausinn responds:

Just looked at the video. Looks like a soccer ball with a bunch of fake fur glued to it. Head is really round in shape and looks odd, just TOO round. Also, how many times does the question need to be asked if Steenburg’s shots are wrong? I think you made your accusation heard the first time. I looked at the shots in the video and compared it to the still on the blink site, and they are not shot at the same spot. If you look at it and take into account a movement to the right of the camera for compensation to be in the correct angle, the spot they were saying the BF was standing would not be the right one. I don’t care if that object was ten feet tall, he would not be seen from that angle, in the position they claim. He was standing on a root, just as the gentleman in the ball cap was.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
