Eric Altman’s Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society will hold its conference today, on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from noon to 8:00 pm, in the banquet hall located above Pitzers’ Townhouse Restaurant, Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Speakers scheduled are Diane Stocking, Bob Chance, Billy Willard, Tom L, Joe Biello, and Eric Altman.

The conference for Bigfoot enthusiasts in Pennsylvania includes a tour of at least four spots in the area where the man-like beast has supposedly been sighted.

While Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, is commonly associated with the Pacific Northwest, about 250 reports have come in from Pennsylvania in the past 10 years.

Eric Altman of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society has organized this weekend’s gathering in Jeannette, a town about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh. He expects between 300 and 500 people, the Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

I attended this conference. It was the first ‘event’ of this type I’ve ever been to.

The whole thing was FANTASTIC. All the speakers were interesting. The only – and I mean ONLY – negative to the whole thing was that there were so many people there, it was often difficult walking around the conference room to see the various exhibits and such. Otherwise, it was just a great experience.

Eric Altman and company deserve MANY pats on the back {and probably a week of catching-up on lost sleep} for all the hard work in setting-up this event.
