Bob Gimlin Sighting

Posted by: Loren Coleman on January 27th, 2008

Sarah Utter doesn’t say much about what happened at the Bigfoot gathering, but does report she had a Bob Gimlin sighting in her town.

The local mainstream media took care of covering the event, as it turns out. But thank goodness for grassroots folks like Ms. Utter.

Besides taking his photo, Ms. Utter seems to have been just as interested in snapping pictures of the signs on the trucks that showed up to see Gimlin.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. Ann Unknown responds:

How can we be sure that that is really Bob Gimlin, and not a BF in a cleverly designed human suit? This photo needs to be subjected to an almost infinite number of dubious test, until this hoax is discredited!

  2. CamperGuy responds:

Methinks it is obviously a hoax because the brim of the hat becomes indistinct and this shouldn’t happen if the picture was taken as closely as it appears. 🙂

  3. noobfun responds:

It could be a bear with mange the patches of fur loss on the face are easily visible. 😛

And the second picture is obviously a house cat wearing a small sign, its just the camera angle/closeness and lack of anything to gauge size against that makes it look so big.

Good to see his run in with xxx and cronies hasn’t scared him away from visiting events like this.

  4. bill green responds:

    very interesting sighting indeedy.. 🙂

  5. squatch-toba responds:

    It’s a sasquatch in a truck suit.

  6. finny responds:

Look to the lower left of the bush just past the hood of the truck. It is clearly a giant hamster. You can make out the eyes and nose. He is tilting his head to our left. 😉
Or could it be a Koala Bear with mange?

Gotta go, the nurse says it’s time for my medicine!

  7. silvereagle responds:

It’s Bob Heironimus in a Gimlin suit! See the buttons. The material seam at the wrist. The muscle padding. This is all old costume technology that was around in the 60’s. Honest! There has got to be a zipper hidden there somewhere. The clever mustache stick-on. Heironimus sure nailed it this time. He probably has his attorney standing just off camera with his best lie-detector technician, just so that there is no doubt in anyone’s mind.

  8. noobfun responds:

shame there is no video evidence, it could be motion capture tested like monsterquest did to see if the movments could be made by anything other then a true Gimlin in the wild

  9. Tamarack responds:

That is definitely a Gimlin, I’ve seen em before and there is no way that smile can be faked.

I just wish we could see the horse he is riding. ;0)
