Mystery Cryptozoologist Photo

Posted by: Loren Coleman on September 28th, 2006

Due to dogged diligence, indepth investigative inquiries, and long hours in pursue of the truth, Cryptomundo brings you today the identity of the mystery cryptozoologist pictured all year by the North American media, next to the now famous Johor Bigfoot cast.

Malaysia Bigfoot

You remember the photo, shown above? The cast was found in February 2006, at Kampung Temenin Lama, Kota Tinggi. This specific image of the track cast shows a curious individual pointing out this piece of alleged Bigfoot evidence found by the Seekers, SPI, and the Sci-Fi filmmakers. She was not identified in the media reports at the time. But Cryptomundo readers demanded to know her name. More people have emailed me wishing to know more about this person than, well, those expressing interest in a wide range of other items discussed here.

Now thanks to information from Ms. Jan McGirk, Mr. Neil Mandt, Mr. Joshua Gates, Mr. Sean Ang, Dr. Vincent Chow, and Mr. Peter Loh, I am certain as to this person’s identity.

The female cryptozoologist is one of the "Seekers" (a group of three young women with a TV show in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by the same name). She is known as Adeek. Her full name is Siri Nadhirah Binti Mohd Zhin, and she works with the Seekers show as a producer, videographer, researcher and personality.

The photographs on the page today are all of Adeek.

Adeek

This image taken during the February trek shows Adeek, as well as others. The man shown in the orange shirt was the security guard hired by the Mandt Bros production. The individual in the hat is Tony Burke, an Aussie tracker. Photograph courtesy of Jan McGirk, and it may be clicked to enlarge.

Adeek

Another photograph of Adeek courtesy of Jan McGirk, which also may be clicked to enlarge. It appears she is wearing, at least, a tee-shirt that seems similar to the one she was wearing in the Johor Bigfoot cast photo.

(This is the identity of the individual as far as discovered. Corrections will be made here if any are forthcoming.)

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. smylex responds:

Looks pretty fake to me. I saw a fake just like that one time and the people who made said they used a crocodile foot and their own foot to make it.

  2. planettom responds:

    Crikey! She’s a beauty! 😉

  3. Loren Coleman responds:

smylex – I don’t know how you can say this. I feel there is nothing fake about Adeek!

    😎

  4. Bob Michaels responds:

The Girl is cute but the cast is ugly.

  5. Sky King responds:

“Looks pretty fake to me. I saw a fake just like that one time and the people who made said they used a crocodile foot and their own foot to make it.”

She doesn’t look like she was created using a crocodile foot AT ALL! More like sugar and spice and all things nice!

  6. SaruOtoko responds:

We have an uber hot female cryptozoologist to look up to now!! Yahoo!

  7. paperdragon responds:

Sigh. At last, the ultimate reason to become a cryptozoologist. 🙂

  8. Valen responds:

A cryptozoologist that looks like that? WOW! How rare is that? (no offense Loren!!) I would have never believed you if I hadn’t seen the pictures.

  9. MrInspector responds:

Good work Loren, now, did you get her phone number? 🙂

  10. ZenBug responds:

    This…is…awesome. Thanks Loren.

I figured we’d find Bigfoot’s shower cap before we’d find a cryptophile who looks like that.

I’ll not bother with the obvious cryptozoological euphemisms.

Any chance she’s aware of this post?

  11. Nachzehrer responds:

I’m sorry, but if she expects to be taken seriously as a cryptozoologist she is going to need more facial hair and a plaid wardrobe.

  12. RicardoNascimento responds:

She’s not hard to look at, is she?

  13. MattBille responds:

The reader reaction is pretty interesting. Objectively, we all know there is no correlation between brains and looks. However, scientists are human, and humans are always intrigued by attractive members of their species. There are certainly examples in the zoology/cryptozoology world, male and female, but the male reaction is always particularly interesting because of the lingering cultural bias that implies women can’t be both brilliant and “hot.” The more examples that disprove that (primatologist Mireya Mayor comes to mind) the better.

  14. sschaper responds:

The fact that she’s got brains makes her doubly attractive.

  15. kittenz responds:

Oh for cryin out loud ! So a woman can’t be attractive AND smart AND interested in a cool subject like cryptozoology?

Well (present company excluded, of course), some of the MEN I know who believe in Bigfoot and aliens and such would take first prize in a beauty contest either! LOL

  16. fredfacker responds:

That’s some first class research Loren! Thanks for your hard work and dedication on this topic. Do Seekers have any shows that air in the US? Would they like to come film one in Texas?

  17. Sharm responds:

Her name should be Siti Nadhirah not Siri Nadhirah.

Adeek or Adik is what you call your younger siblings or someone younger than you.

‘The Seekers’ consists of two girls. Siti Nadhirah is 19 or maybe 20 years old now. The other girl, Syahira Ahmad Ramli, is a year older.

These girls are brave. They’ve been investigating paranormal, mysterious, haunted places, sometimes alone in the middle of the night. Crikey!

There are other similar groups like D’scanners which consists of three even younger girls and Tesis (three 20 or 21 year old girls)..

I’ll search for Siti Nadhirah’s e-mail and tell her about this post.

    Cheers

  18. Sharm responds:

There’s a TV series featuring these girls but unfortunately it is in Malay language.

Here’s a story about the series, and another photo of Siti Nadhirah. Only a small one this time.

    Seekers Documentary

  19. Sharm responds:

I’ve e-mailed The Seekers and tell them about all your posts and comments!

Here’s their website and more photos there!

  20. crypto_randz responds:

She’s a pretty girl man, no question about it. Maybe she will prove the johor bigfoot exists. Anything she finds, I will believe.

  21. Cryptonut responds:

    Excellent research Loren! 😉

  22. MK2_Bigfoot responds:

More Adeek, less Johor Bigfoot please
    🙂

  23. Lee Pierce responds:

    I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!!

  24. Lee Pierce responds:

Today is the first time I realized there was a footprint cast in that picture.

  25. Cass responds:

Lordy Lord….goodness gracious me….Looking through these comments, all I can say is that guys will always be guys huh? (suckers for pretty faces, lol) In concurrence, she certainly is a beautiful young woman.

From one female crypto researcher to another…You GO girlfriend!

  26. sharmcos responds:

    Guys,

    Here’s The Seekers website.

More photos there. She has Myspace!

  27. lastensugle responds:

Yeah, if the posibility of finding sasquatch isn’t enough to get you outta the armchair and into the field, maybe a nice lookin’ cryptogirl is!

I hope the focus of the Seekers-group/show is on what is out there, and not on the pretty girls. Maybe they’re Chow n Ang’s new way of gettin some attention?

Oh yeah, I better comment too then, here goes: Wow, I’d like to have a cast of her.

  28. Alaska-boy responds:

For anyone seriously interested in getting to know her, Adeek’s MySpace page is located here.

Drop her a line if you’re so inclined. (Though I don’t know if she speaks English) 🙂

  29. YarriWarrior responds:

It broke my heart when I had to tell her I was already married. OK, that’s not true, but it felt good to say! Yarri

  30. MattBille responds:

My belief was always that a woman was not attractive UNLESS she was intelligent, but maybe that’s just me.

  31. Sunny responds:

Hey Cass and Kittenz — let’s go and have a girls’ night out until this bunch can catch their breath.

    Sheesh.

  32. Cass responds:

    You’re on Sunny! 😀

Should we throw a few of these poor souls some life jackets first? Hahahaha!

  33. Sunny responds:

Heehee…I’m thinking an oxygen tank and some Valium….

  34. twblack responds:

    She is very pretty indeed.

  35. AmarDrifter responds:

hahaha..thats the beauty of the malaysian girls!

  36. abtex responds:

Can Cryptomundo get a squad of cheerleaders? It seem to work for the Malaysian Cryptozoologists and Aussie seem to be having fun. 🙂

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
