A Spokane woman out for a day hike along the Spokane river claims to have proof of the mysterious and elusive Bigfoot.

Samantha, who did not give her last name, and her friends were hiking at Downriver Park over the weekend when they captured Bigfoot by using their iPhone camera.

Samantha posted a YouTube video of the creature a few days later.

Proof? No, I’m sorry, but all this proves is that somebody else was also out for a walk in the woods.

  2. Hambone responds:

I compared it to the Patterson/Gimlin film and by comparison this creature is real small. Of course this is only the comparison I have that is real.

  3. Richard888 responds:

    Loren,

Did you post this under the Memorial Day footage so that we notice the similarity in the posture of the two creatures?

  4. kirjutama responds:

Why was “Samantha” friends walking through the woods? Seems like an odd thing to do if there’s no scenery.

  5. Weezy responds:

Zoomed in, it looks like somebody in a hoodie, or a monkey suit.

  6. dermal_ridges_are_proof responds:

So glad this has been reposted, it’s been on my mind since first seeing the Spokane footage; despite my prior scepticism it’s been a real niggle that won’t go away; that the dark ‘round shouldered’ figure in this footage ambles along in the same manner as the figure in the Memorial Day footage.

If you can find the ‘zoomed in’ version of the M.D. footage it helps with the comparison.

I’m not saying the comparison provides proof of authenticity. I’d like to know what others think, as I’m sure this isn’t down to my imagination or wishful thinking.

  7. mandors responds:

The head seems proportionally too large compared to the shoulders. The figure also seems to have bad posture.

The video also has that staged “oh, we were minding our business when something happened over our shoulders” quality.

  8. mandors responds:

I just read “dermal_ridges” comment. I forgot M.D. sighting was also in Washington State.
What if there is some jerk who thinks it’s funny to run around the woods in WA in a suit? There are plenty of good looking costumes out there, and as they get even better, and the morals of our society get worse, researchers are going to have to be extra cautious.

  9. Dr Kaco responds:

It’s pretty impressive as far as ‘creepy’ goes, just looks to me like the image of the ‘beast’ was inserted via CGI software? Not saying it was just an opinion.

  10. Resologist responds:

In response to a “fact or hoax” question, I answered:

“When the person who allegedly caught a Bigfoot on her iPhone refuses to identify herself and provides nothing more than the video via YouTube, one cannot conduct a decent analysis of this sighting.

“As usual in too many photographs, films, and videos of this sort, the object is out of focus. Without knowing where the video was shot, one cannot estimate its size and speed of movement by having someone re-enact the video. And, as no one supposedly noticed this object until afterwards, no one apparently went back to look for its trail and possible tracks along the trail. The location where it was allegedly seen is between the Spokane Falls Community College and the Spokane River; across the river is the Downriver Municipal Golf Course; and, along this bend of the river, the opposite bank is surrounded by Spokane. This is not what might be called a “wilderness” area, nor where a shy animal might go to avoid human activity; it’s just a park area extending past the community college from Riverside State Park.

“Without any details available, I’d guess that this might be as safe a place as one might find near to the campus, to have someone dress up in a monkey suit, and to run a short distance in the background, without the likelihood of being shot by a hunter and without attracting any attention from roadside traffic.”
