Bigfoot News From Pine Ridge

Posted by: Loren Coleman on July 5th, 2009

Photographs taken of large footprints in April 2009, on the Pine Ridge, South Dakota’s Lakota reservation allegedly belong to Bigfoot. The footprints were found on land belonging to Charles Waters.

Photo taken by Harriet Twiss.

According to Gloria Yellow Boy, there was a disturbance outside of her home after dark on April 14. “The dog barked and barked that night,” she said. “Bigfoot” screams sound real strange. The sound “gives you chills,” she said.

She lives near Wolf Creek Community building east of Pine Ridge. “I don’t know what it looks like because I have never seen it, but I think it may have killed our dogs in the past. Once we had a dog named Angus and we found him with his head twisted around. Whatever killed him tore his throat out. There were also wounds on his stomach.”

“We live on a flat area of the prairie. I hear the Bigfoot like to hang around trees, maybe they have a trail that runs near our place,” she said. “One time the Bigfoot was right outside the house, my daughter looked out the window and saw it standing next to the van. She said it had red eyes.”

Due to the quiet, closed nature of the community, a contact from there just forwarded me this info.

The Lakota say when the Big Man shows up it is a sign of troubles to come, a warning.

  2. seagraves responds:

Everything in her description was pretty textbook, nothing really intriguing there. The footprint is interesting, though of course no one thought to put another object next to it to compare its size.

  3. springheeledjack responds:

I guess I see markings at the end of the print that sort of suggest toes, but the shape and outline look like a big shoe to me.

Of course, from the photo you can’t get a real close look at things…

The photo looks like some of the prints we’ve found around the Pollock Pines CA area off of US 50 near the Sly Park exit. It appears to have to have been taken in very hard soil which isn’t going to give much of a clear print. It does appear to have the characteristic double ball.

I don’t see evidence of any type of shoe or boot pattern and I wonder if it could be a place where people go barefoot. As stated it needed something next to it to indicate size.

  5. CryptoInformant 2.0 responds:

Yeah, the soil appears too hard to give a clear print – but I find the detail about the dead dogs interesting. Evidence, perhaps, of Sasquatch’s omnivorous nature?

  6. Scott C. responds:

I seem to remember reading that Sasquatch have always had it out for dogs. Sasquatch/human encounters are likely to be peaceful, unless you have a dog, in which case the ape may become aggressive.

This report would seem consistent with that claim.

  7. cryptidsrus responds:

I’ve always heard that Saquatch is omnivorous, Scott C..
So I agree with you. Does not surprise me.
I remember reading an eyewitness report once of Sasquatch killing a dog by hitting it ONCE in the head with a stone. Their strength was such that all it took was one blow. So yep, Ole Hairy seems to “have it in” for Fido.

  8. CryptoInformant 2.0 responds:

Well, it’s not even like we should be shocked that dog is on the menu – after all, even humans have been known to eat dog in certain parts of the world.

  9. DWA responds:

I’d not only like to see a size referent but a bigger photo. Can we get that?

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
