When Did William Roe Die?

An author-researcher has written to Cryptomundo asking if anyone knows when famed Sasquatch eyewitness William Roe passed away. If you know, would you please share the answer in the comment section? Has anyone run across an obituary of his?

The above drawing of the William Roe encounter’s Sasquatch was used to illustrate Ivan T. Sanderson’s men’s magazine article detailing Roe’s sighting. From the initials of the artist in the right hand corner, they do not appear to match Morton Kunstler’s.

The closeup of the Roe drawing done by Kunstler in Sanderson’s 1961 ABSM book seems to have been based on the above sketching (but they are different).

This drawing was done in 1958, by Roe’s daughter from his description of what he said he saw in 1955, in British Columbia.

Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
