How about the 2008 Zorgy Awards, for starters?

At the “Above & Beyond” blog, Paul Kimball took the nominations into his own hands this year (and the categories too, I might add, since “Cryptozoologist of the Year” has been dropped). He writes: “This year Rear Admiral Zorgrot and I have decided on the nominations ourselves (as we did in 2006), but as always we leave the voting to you! The polls will close on January 4, 2009.”

You can’t vote here, but I can share his picks with you below:

Tim Binnall (in Red Sox Cap) is shown with Halifax actress Jodie Mavor and Rear Admiral Zorgrot (a/k/a Zorgy) at a post-screening party at Ginger’s Tavern in Halifax, Nova Scotia, of Paul Kimball’s award-winning documentary, Best Evidence.

I’m a little bummed out that Cryptomundo didn’t get on there as a choice for “Top Blog,” so, since I want to win, and I want you to win, please vote for me as “top…researcher.” 🙂

Hey, I like to win, don’t you?

If you wish to vote, even if not for me, please cast your pick by clicking here. Let the Zorgys feel the power of Cryptomundo!

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

    Greetings All!
Could someone please clue me in as to who the “troublemakers” are in the poll? I seem to be missing any names from the Georgia Bigfoot Hoax on this list!! Is this just a “me and my buddies” poll? I can’t believe Cryptomundo was left out! Maybe if there were more “Bigfoot’s UFO ran over my dog” stories. You know, the REAL stories (he typed sarcastically).
Well, gotta go, there’s someone at the door with grey fur, pink eyes and three legs (look it up!). Happy New Year everyone!

  2. mfs responds:

    Loren,
Looking good so far and you definitely got my vote. Hope 2009 turns out to be a decent year cryptidwise.

    Happy New Year!

  3. Cryptoraptor responds:

I voted for you, Loren. I don’t know who the other people are!

I’m not a Bigfoot believer, however.

  4. Andrew Minnesota responds:

one would think the blog that broke the news on the Georgia fiasco would be on there but hopefully you win Loren, I gave a you a vote!

  5. CWatkins responds:

Of course you have my vote Loren!

  6. TiBot responds:

You got my vote, and I too am disappointed that your blog didn’t get a mention. If you were to compare all of the blogs listed, I’ll bet yours’ is more active that most of the others. You are very diligent, straight forward and honest. Best wishes for ’09.

  7. tropicalwolf responds:

    Okay, I voted for Loren.

However, that entire “voting” site really got under my skin and here’s why:

Most all the blogs were unorganized, simplistic, messes. How could Cryptomundo not beat all of them hands down? It would have been a blow out. Is that why Cryptomundo wasn’t even given a chance?

Second, those alleged “news” sites were all linktacular, link-a-riffic, sponge-sites. None of them had ORIGINAL articles or news. Most all “linked” to another site that had the actual story. A child could have put those sites together. Again, Cryptomundo would have won hands down but was not even given a chance.

Other than voting for Loren, I found that “voting” site a WASTE OF TIME!

  8. Dj Plasmic Nebula responds:

    i vote for you

  9. sluggo responds:

Can someone enlighten me as to the origin of the two panel comic strip up above?

Thanks and happy new year to all the crypto fans and especially to Loren.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
