Bigfoot The Definitive Guide on the History Channel

The History Channel will air Bigfoot: The definitive Guide on Feb 2nd, 2011.

The official description of the show is:

A team of top scientists (Drs. Jack Rink, Anna Nekaris, William Sellars, Jeff Meldrum, and Ian Redmond) come together with one goal to create the definitive guide to Bigfoot. Does the creature exist? And if it does where is it? And how can it survive without being detected? Using a new interactive map the team has plotted more than 10,000 Bigfoot type sightings from around the world.

Dr. Jeff Meldrum reflects on the experience:

“It was personally gratifying to hear my colleagues objectively evaluate the footprints, hair samples and sightings as serious evidence; to see their intrigue mount as they contemplated its implications,”.

Thanks, I set my DVR. Looks like it’s a 2hr show.

I was very excited to watch “Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide” due to the fact that it was new and not the same reruns you see all of the time. Unfortunately, it left me very disappointed…it may have been a new program, but it was just more of the same old stuff. It was not only disappointing and empty, but also completely absurd when one of the people they interviewed suggested that what people could be seeing are Indian Shaman’s….so I guess it’s normal for a Shaman, when they’re out in the forest for many years, to grow 3-4 feet, put on several hundred pounds, and double their shoe size….COME ON NOW PEOPLE!!!!! The show was basically a waste of 2 hours.

  3. Faceless Man responds:

Good time waster for an insomniac like myself, I guess. Still, the fact that the theories they came up with were the same theories I have been trying to inform people of for the past few years tells me that either I’m ahead of the game, or they’re way behind.

this was the type of Bigfoot show i have been hoping for !! very well researched and very respected folks involved with it . iv’e always thought the patty filmed looked stiff/suspicious through the back and butt , and the the face looks like a slit in fir to see through ( till “enhanced” ) . i was also glad to finally see some considerations for some type of Neanderthal .

  5. twigsin responds:

“Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide” was disappointing, it didn’t seem to have anything new to offer and even the tone of it was weary — it just seemed to take advantage of the fact that audiences truly yearn for information, any bits of news at all about a Bigfoot sort of a creature. So, we watched. Waste of time.

  6. spike responds:

I thought it was an interesting show. It was good to see some new perspectives. Although I was really disappointed that they didn’t cover sightings in the Mid-West region (Michigan, Ohio, Penn). According to their “Global Map” It looked as though the Mid-West region had more sightings than the West Coast. I was also hoping that one of the four scientists/experts would have personally interviewed Robert Gimlin.

  7. HITMAN responds:

I enjoy any updates on BIGFOOT new or old and tend to lean more towards the BELIEVE side. But with all the global sightings I have yet to see any recent real clear footage. Bottomline is EVERYONE has a phone nowadays with the capabilities to photo and video we see alot of of good and bad video footage of just about anything one can imagine so until see some REAL UNBLURRED footage it puts doubt in my mind. PS ANNA IS A HOTTIE!!!!!!!!!!
