The Cross Timbers Creature Conference: April 14

Cross Timbers Creature Conference

In case you are interested in attending, both Lyle Blackburn and myself will be speaking at the Cross Timbers Creature Conference at Lake Thunderbird State Park, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 14.

Lyle will, of course, be speaking on the subject of his newly-published book, The Beast of Boggy Creek: The True Story of the Fouke Monster.

And I will be lecturing on the legendary Man-Monkey, a strange “British Bigfoot”-type creature that, in January 1879, burst forth from the woods surrounding Bridge 39 on England’s Shropshire Union Canal.

To find out more about the conference – which is being organized by the Western Oklahoma Team of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center – click on this link.

  1. Hapa responds:

    Dr Redfern: Hello 🙂

Is the Man-Monkey the same as the Shug-Monkey?

  2. Nick Redfern responds:

    Hapa:

No, the shug-Monkey is a creature chiefly reported from the East Coast of England (chiefly the county of Suffolk), whereas the Man-Monkey has been reported in and around the counties of Staffordshire and Shropshire.

I’m only a plain old “Mr” though. Not a “Dr”!!
