My new Lair of the Beasts column at Mania.com digs into a certain forthcoming book from me and Glen Vaudrey: The Mystery Animals of the British Isles: Staffordshire.

Bigfoot, wolf-men, strange water-based beasts, wallabies, coypu, armadillos, big cats, weird winged things, and much more are contained in its packed pages.

It should be surfacing from its dark and terrible lair (CFZ Press HQ, in other words) in mid-August.

  1. Kopite responds:

As a Brit I can accept alien big cats, wallabies and maybe strange water based creatures but bigfoot in Britain I never could. Still, the forthcoming book sounds interesting. Thanks.

  2. Nick Redfern responds:

But, here’s the thing: the British Bigfoot is clearly not flesh and blood. There’s barely a single case from the UK of a Bigfoot type creature that doesn’t have at least one paranormal aspect to the story. There’s not a chance in hell of a large, unknown ape living in the UK. But, people clearly report these things in the UK, but from the perspective of them being more (or less) than physical.
