(Sleater Kinney – Let’s Call It Love)
This song is definately going to last longer than the time it will take to read this blog, but maybe it will make people stare longer at the pictures. It is from an all female group out of Oregon and is quite raw in it’s sound… like these pictures.
One of my fellow bloggers here, Craig Woolheater, sent me some information concerning the White film and so I thought I would try and see if I could pull any detail out of them. I guess the Whites sent this photo to Dr. Bryant more than 20 years ago. It shows a large ape-like figure in the Pacific Northwest. I find it interesting that there is no mention by him of it being a hoax; at least with what information I have to date.
I used Photoshop Elements 2.0 to work with the image. It sure looks like an ape like brow ridge and muzzle, maybe even some lippage, but the nose is quite perplexing to me. There are too many digital artifacts in these to say one way or another that it is just a man in a fur suit or the real deal.
I like to use layers in this $80 program, altering the levels of the primary colors. I also use a layer and then emboss it, changing it’s attributes to an overlay… maybe a touch of Guassian blur of the colors as well. It runs on both the PC and Mac and is now up to 4.0.
I think that both Dr. Meldrum and Craig have pointed out an apparent separation line on the shoulder, as in a head piece trying to blend in with the rest of a suit, but without better material to work with I can’t tell if that was actually part of the original image or not.
Certainly this film ranks up there with a few others (Memorial and Freeman) and of course exceeds the BFRO’s Kentucky and Manitoba videos. I think I might try and hunt it down, if it still exists.
