Once again, Toyota is using a cryptid for a spokes beast.
We have seen them use two versions of the Loch Ness Monster.
The first was a kraken.
And the next used a plesiosaur.
Now comes this Puerto Rican market Toyota Highlander commercial featuring our favorite hirsute hominid, Friendly Bigfoot.
The following video has some background on the Bigfoot suit design, as well as the Toyota commercial.
The video below shows additional information regarding the Bigfoot suit special effects.
The special creature effects were done by an Argentinian special effects studio by the name of Elcarimat FX.
Nice suit.
On youtube, someone questioned them about the length of the arms, as compared to the subject of the Patterson/Gimlin film.
Not bad proportions, but the arms are too short. Of course, that’s because humans don’t have long ape arms. Compare these guys to the one in the Patterson film.sonofawindowdresser
This was the response:
Yes, I agree with your comment. In the stage of the construction we thought about making hand extensions but we decided that they would not be functional for the acting. So,our character is more near to the comedy that the science, We considered that our creature is a mixture between Bigfoot with a component of the Grinch.elcarimat
