Recently, I posted about the upcoming contest, “Bushnell: $1,000,000 For Bigfoot Trail Cam Photo.”
I noted the outdoors products company Bushnell will soon be offering a million dollars for “a verifiable photo of Sasquatch with your trail camera.”
As was mentioned earlier, one of the most famous recent “alleged Bigfoot” photos taken with a Bushnell trail camera was the probable bear image (following) labeled by the media as a “juvenile Sasquatch”:
One of the other examples of a possible “trailcam Bigfoot” that I shared was the following one, taken on April 30, 2006, in the Mt. Hood National Forest, near The Dalles, Oregon, with a setup placed there by Klindt Kendall and Dianna Martin:
Various comment makers left remarks about the length of the hair or how clean or well-groomed this “Mt. Hood Bigfoot” appeared in this wooded setting.
In relationship to that photograph, I received this instructive communication:
In reading your “Bushnell: $1,000,000 For Bigfoot Trail Cam Photo” blog, I see some of your readers stating that they see long hair in the Kendall/Martin photo.
They may be right but after working with these cameras for many years I see camera blur. I’ve attached a few “what the heck is that!?” photos from my cameras for your own reference or to post.
Some pics can be very confusing (like the “foot” in #6) unless you also get to see the pics taken right before or right after the photo in question.
I’ve asked a couple people how far away from the camera they think the bears are. The average answer was 15 yards. In reality they are 15 FEET from the camera.
I hope Bushnell’s contest brings in a good photo (or two) but I fear there will be a lot pics of ‘long flowing blue jeans’.

As we walk down this forest path, into the future Bushnell trail camera gallery of blogsquatch* images, blobsquatch photos and blurry Bigfoot, we should all do it with open eyes.
I certainly would be delighted if a good, clear, and worthwhile cryptozoological and zoological image emerges from this Bushnell challenge. Indeed, I would be very happy. But we have to be careful, skeptical, and open-minded about all this, too.
Ultimately, however, we can also be very excited by the forthcoming opportunity afforded by this Bushnell contest!
