February 11, 2011
On Saturday, February 12, 2011, on History, there will be a repeat of “Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide” from 9:00 to 11:00 PM Eastern, followed by “MonsterQuest: Curse of the Monkey Man” from 11:00 to Midnight Eastern. Check local listings for times in your area.
Doug Hajicek, the Executive Producer of “MonsterQuest,” forwards this statement and review:
Dear Loren and Cryptomundo Readers,
To clarify any similarity between “MonsterQuest” and “Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide,” I would like to pass along the following.
The UK production company apparently licensed some of the “MonsterQuest” footage through History. They also used many of the same experts and sub-topics. I was not consulted or informed of its production. Any other similarities were based on perception and producer(s) style choices.
In my opinion the show was a nicely organized and polished recap of the MQ shows that we produced concerning Bigfoot-related creatures around the World and the Sasquatch mystery domestically. Nothing much new or original was included, except in my opinion, the almost silly Shaman theory.
After producing more than 70 national crypto shows, I feel qualified to say that this new two-hour show will, no doubt, help educate viewers regarding the ongoing scientific mystery and the worldwide scope of it.
I give “Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide” a big thumbs up.
Shows like “Legend Meets Science” and “MonsterQuest” helped raised the bar in making this topic a more serious scientific one in documentaries and TV shows around the globe and this one certainly continues to prove that out. I enjoyed the show and its wideview of the mystery.
Thanks,
Doug Hajicek
