In a new post at his Shuker Nature blog, Dr. Karl Shuker tells the fascinating story of one of his books that never was (so to speak!).
I’ll let Karl himself explain:
“I have been very fortunate during more than 20 years as a full-time author in that virtually every book that I have personally submitted for publication or have been involved with in some capacity has duly appeared in print. During the mid-1990s, however, there was one notable exception to this successful trend. It was provisionally entitled The Great Mystery Atlas: A Pictorial Guide to Mysterious Creatures and Places.”
What would the book have contained? What kind of impact might it have had? Why didn’t it appear? Read on…
And, as you’ll see, it’s a real shame this book did not appear, since it contained some fantastic artwork.
