Over at my World of Whatever blog, I have a new post that addresses one of the stranger “British Bigfoot” controversies ever to have surfaced. The creature at the heart of the saga became known as the “Beast of Bolam” (after the location: Bolam Lake Country Park, which is located in Northumberland, England), and briefly provoked massive interest at a local level and within British Fortean and cryptozoological circles.
So, why am I mentioning this now? Well, the events in question came to an absolute peak in January 2003, which means the affair will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in just a matter of weeks.
As for the story, the cast of characters, the attendant controversies and weirdness, photos of the site, and certain very seldom discussed aspects of the story, you can find out about each and every one of them in my latest book, Wildman! The Monstrous and Mysterious Saga of the “British Bigfoot.”
