Hit ABC Show Seeks Dynamic Families Searching For Bigfoot
Hi Loren,
My name is Danielle Gervais. I’m a Casting Producer for ABC’s Primetime show, “Wife Swap.” We’re currently gearing up for our fifth season and we’re looking for one-of-a-kind families with plenty of personality to take part in the show. Specifically, we’re looking for families who are actively searching for Bigfoot or “Sasquatch” as I’ve learned it is often referred. Families who participate in this documentary-style program are given a unique opportunity to share their beliefs and lifestyles with another family. I’m hoping you may be open to passing this posting along to any and all of your contacts.
In case you are unfamiliar with the show, the premise of Wife Swap is to take two different families and have the moms switch places to experience how another family lives. Half of the week, mom lives the life of the family she is staying with. After making her observations, she introduces several “rule changes,” where she implements rules and activities that are important to her family. It’s a positive experience for people to not only learn but teach about other families and other ways of life. Wife Swap airs on Disney owned ABC television on Wednesdays at 8 pm- the family hour!
Requirements: Each family must consist of two parents and at least one child between 6 and 17 and should reside in the continental U.S. (There may be other children living in the home who are older or younger than the required age…as long as one child is in the required age range.)
Participating in the show is a very unique experience that can be life changing for everyone. Families that appear on the show will receive a financial honorarium for lost wages, time and commitment.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this email and I hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! If you’re interested in learning more, please include your contact information.
Thank you for your time,Danielle Gervais

Please note, we have posted about ABC’s “Wife Swap” emails and fees before.
On December 7, 2006, we had this, “Need $20,000? Wanted: CZ Family!.”
As we openly mentioned, the families were promised $20,000, and the referring party a $1000 fee (which, of course, is income, no matter what one decides to do with that money, i.e. donate it to charity, a museum, or an institute).
About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
I’ve seen this show and I wouldn’t recommend it for a family that’s serious about itself. The families that are selected are generally portrayed as “Rosanne” analogs. YMMV.
I really enjoy how Wife Swap refers to itself as a “documentary-style program”.
Props to their production staff, though, for doing their research well enough to know to come to Loren.
I would love to see this happen.
Oh Please.. No! They will end up making Bigfoot into a huge joke; that on the heels of the GA debacle.. means major set backs for those who are trying to prove their existance scientifically.
My kids are too old for me to be eligible for the television program, but I would still consider swapping my wife off. If anyone interested might have a small trailer, or an air compressor they are willing to trade.
I would have to agree with the others: no good will come of this. The show is not known for casting sensible, functional families. This has tabloid written all over it. I don’t think anyone should aid in this obviously well-timed attack on the legitimate pursuit of these creatures. The network is just cashing in on the Georgia incident. They will, of course, find their family. Of that, I am certain – and they won’t be Ozzie and Harriet. So why help them in such defamation?
I also am worried what the fall out of this might be to the Big Foot community , It could be both positive or negative depending on the family they choose . And that will boil down to which they think will entertain the best is my fears , WoW this just may be the year Big Foot takes the beating of his life ! Then again even negative press is press and the old man of the forest will still survive it untouched to his eyes .
Sorry, but I can see NO good whatsoever coming out of this. It’s no secret that they edit the shows in such a way that it tweaks the perspective, and not always in a flattering direction. The fact is that the mainstream media (as well as the majority of the viewing public) will never take Bigfoot seriously until they have stone cold proof dumped in their laps, so why would anyone think that Wife Swap would take up the cause and portray a CryptoMom as anything less than the intelligent, open-minded and educated person that we all know and love? And while there would undoubtedly be a certain degree of entertainment value in seeing Biscardi make a first-rate jackass of himself on national television (again) that would only make the rest of us who take this seriously look bad.
Therefore, I again assert that “sensationalist” reality television is no place for any self-respecting cryptofan, be they professional or otherwise.
Just sayin’.
