Bigfoot: A Beast on the Run

I found the following trailer for a Bigfoot documentary on youtube. I wrote the gentleman who uploaded it, David Thayer, and requested some additional information regarding the project entitled Bigfoot: A Beast on the Run.

From what I see of the trailer, the production looks high quality. I for one am looking forward to the film.

I started this project in April 2005. Filming took place in July 2006, and it’s just about finished (I’m still working on the narration and soundtrack)

The idea was conceived when my brother-in-law, Todd Limberg, showed me a recording he made that he thought was Bigfoot.

I was curious; It didn’t sound like anything I had ever heard before, so I figured the only way I could get to the bottom of this was to go straight to the experts.

So I decided to make a movie about it (I love projects!)

The film attempts to answer whether-or-not Todd’s recording was of Bigfoot. In the process of trying to find this out, we ended up finding out a lot more than we expected to, and got some great interviews and footage along the way.

We also learned about the sorry state of the Pacific Northwest’s forests. To see the present condition of this national treasure firsthand is sobering indeed.

Unwittingly, we also ended up looking for Bigfoot.

Featured in the film are: Henner Farenbach, Thom Powell, Jeff Meldrum, Thomas Biscardi (and his crew circa 2005) Jason Valenti (and crew), MK Davis, Peggy Marx (widow of Ivan Marx, and reputedly the one wearing Biscardi’s bigfoot suit), Don Monroe, a Karuk Medicine Man (David Arwood), and many others.

Don’t expect any “oooh, is bigfoot really out there?” or any flashlight-under-the-chin BS. This movie is about Bigfooting and Bigfoot, and things get pretty candid.

An update from David Thayer

I have an update to this movie; Tom Biscardi is very unhappy about it and is threatening to have the movie blocked, or, as in his words, “I will have my attorneys file a sanction for a cease and desist against you and your movie including invasion of privacy and financial damages.”

This is in response to me calling him ‘Bombastic’, which I think is being extremely modest.

Anyway, I’m sure that once he sees the trailer he will calling Youtube to try and get it taken down, so if you’re gonna post it I would do it soon before his army of lawyers comes to get me.David Thayer

I emailed David to ask permission to post the private message he sent me regarding Biscardi. Following is his reply:

Absolutely.

I want him to know that if he tries to ban my movie I can always edit some ‘free internet films’ with the footage I have of him: LEGALLY AQUIRED footage he encouraged me to film and which he signed a release over.

“What footage?” you ask.

Well, I followed up some of the claims he made before my cameras – especially in regards to one prominent anthropologist, whom he CLAIMED was a part of the GABRO, and who he CLAIMED was gonna help him capture and transport a bigfoot he was allegedly gonna catch ‘within 48 hours’. I have a letter from this anthropologist which I will post on the internet unless he lays off my endeavors.

I made him look like prince charming in my film. Him suing me for calling him ‘bombastic’ is like a frog suing me over calling it green.
