What’s more frightening? The monster… or the history behind it?
8-foot tall walking ape-like Humanoids, Dogmen, Flying Creatures, and the list goes on…
Strange mythological creatures, also known as “cryptids” are being reported by eye-witness accounts from across the country. But it isn’t these ‘so called’ eye-witness accounts that catches the attention of our team– they are only leads to a world of historical events, situations and geographical locations that could provide the potential ‘proof’ and ‘evidence’ to validate centuries of claims. Digging through archives and articles dating back in time, we discover that the history behind these mythologies can be more frightening than the monsters themselves.
Our team consists of researchers and lifelong friends Rob, Melissa and Max who along with Dr Jeff Meldrum investigate old newspaper articles describing encounters with mysterious creatures. Unlike other teams out there we do not not rely solely on eye-witness accounts.
Buried between the pages are baffling monster mysteries which tell of horrible creatures from our past that until now have been explored on the surface. Following clues found in each of the articles we return to the community, track down local experts, dig through archives for evidence and uncover forgotten legends in an attempt to shed light on the mysterious stories.
Join us as we get to the bottom of centuries old mysteries to find out if monsters from our past are perhaps still lurking in our present.
Note: (This is the final draft, part 2, of the Cold Case Cryptids sizzle reel. Meet the team members and find out what we learned about the surprising facts about the “What Is It?” article from Meadville Mississippi back in 1868.)
