Posted on Facebook yesterday:
The first days of my Russian trip were spent in the Caucasus National Park. We operated out of a remote field camp operated by a very cordial and industrious Armenian family. In these photos we survey the remarkably lush and diverse alpine meadows flanking Mt Fisht, the first in the chain of peaks of the Caucasus spreading out to the southeast. My host, Dmitry Pirkulov is pictured next. Our guide, Islam Magomedov (center) was a district ranger for UNESCO, and very familiar with the reports of the wildman from this region. More to come…Jeff Meldrum
