Crypto Cartoon – Bigfoot Perhaps?
Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 8th, 2007
A highly informative film about Bigfoot originally aired on “Futurama”.
If you are a cryptozoologist, Bigfoot researcher, crypto-enthusiast, whatever you want to call yourself, you have to be able to laugh at yourself a bit.
A sense of humor is vital in cryptozoology.

D’OH! Or not.
I love Futurama, it’s a great cartoon. This was one of my favorite episodes.
HA HA. That should play in parks everywhere where Bigfoot has been seen!!
One of my favorites too- which is why I bought the DVD and even listened to the audio commentary…
In it, one of the writers notes that the final animation before the end of this episode is a direct reference to “The classic, and now admittedly bogus, bigfoot footage” to which Matt Groening himself adds in defense “Well I think that confession of ‘bogusocity’ is…” before being interrupted by other voices talking over him, never finishing his thought.
Seems like Matt Groening doesn’t buy the P/G hoax story either.
hey everyone great bigfoot cartoon. bill 🙂
That’s interesting to hear. So many “Bigfoot” jokes, and even full-length comedies, trot out the same few jokes, and usually they’re jokes about the BELIEVERS, instead of being “balanced.” That Futurama episode did a pretty good job of making fun of BOTH sides. So it would be nice to think that Groening himself might be undecided about the whole thing.
