Posted by: Loren Coleman on February 12th, 2008
Fake? Photoshopped? Real man in a suit?
Pozele sunt facute in Romania, in Muntii Vrancei, acum 4 zile, pe 8 februarie, sau cel putin asa spune autorul.
Photos taken friday, February 8th 2008, in Romania, Vrancea Mountains. A tall strange humanoid crossing the road, that’s what I saw.vasiliumihnea

About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
Bigfoot sure is a lot buffer in Europe than he is in American or Canada. Is it because the women there are more attractive or maybe just harder to impress?
All I know is that I need abs and a chest like that. He should release a work out video. It would be huge and make him some serious money!
it’s boratfoot! high five!
OK. Since everybody else is having fun with this. I tried to refrain, but.
I do think a compelling video – even a photo – is possible. But it sure ain’t this one.
And a serious note: correct as some of the ape-suit (or fake-whatever) assessments may be for this one case, beware the pitfall of saying “no known animal” has this or that appearing in the figure in question, so It Must Be A Fake. The figure in question, if it’s not human or a human construct, is obviously UNknown. EVERY known animal has features that make it unique. “No known ape” is bipedal. Well, actually, we are, and the sas is. “No known ape” lives in the temperate zone. Well, actually, we live all over the planet, and a cold-adapted great ape is really no more unlikely than a cold-adapted (snow, golden) monkey.
We could go on with this. But you get my point.
Hoax….no question…
Man, I heard Romanians were hairy, but WOW!!! i’
He has a big stick! Lucky guy!
Obviously a fake of some kind, man in a suit or toy, whatever, hopefully, it will be explained at some later time.
It’s a person wearing a suit. Isn’t it obvious?
I am going to have to go along with the other commenters and say that this is a shot of a model or action figure. The photos just look “wrong” if viewed as photos of a full size creature, but if you look at them thinking model, everything seems right. (Plus doesn’t the break on the “tree” in the first shot seem more like a break you would see if you snapped a twig off a larger plant?)
Since when do Bigfoots have a mustache and receeding hair line?? FAKEY!
Whatever it is, it’s rubbish.
It looks like a doll to me, especially in the second and third “photos”. No question it’s hoaxed, just a matter of how it was done. The background looks like a poster or some sort of matte painting (vinyl, canvas, toy diorama backdrop, etc.). It almost looks like a diorama with some photoshop work. Oh boy!
I agree with DWA completely that we should not say what the creature should or shouldn’t look like based on what we THINK it should look like. After all we are talking about an unknown animal here. For all we know, this is quite a typical specimen.
That being said, it is hard not to chuckle when seeing these photos. To me, it doesn’t look real at all and I am of the opinion of some of the other posters here that these could possibly be pictures of a figurine. I’m no photo expert, but that is what these suggest to me.
I’m with Shumway…the last two look like a toy and the first looks like it was photoshopped in…nice Groucho nose and glasses…
Why would anybody fake something that so obviously looks like a hoax? The fact remains that if this was a definite hoax, they would have at least made some effort to do a better job.
Fake or not, its a picture of something really there, look at the 2nd and 3rd images, first the images are almost the same, but in one of them the background trees are in focus (with the humanoid and earth bank out of focus) and in the next one, its the other way around (the trees out of focus, with the humanoid / earth bank in focus). That type of thing really happens with digital photography, especially when you are trying to get a shot of a moving object. That would be difficult to fake, and once again, anyone who has the time to invest in such a hoax would probably have a more ‘standard’ or believable bigfoot.
The apparent ‘glasses’ are actually evidence of a prominent brow ridge combined with sunken eyes.
Overall, the implausibility of the humanoid in the image, is what makes this seemingly more authentic. Who would go out of their way to produce a hoax that looks like this?
His toes look very clean. Clean abs, clean toes. This guy works out and showers afterward.
O thats good… was this photo taken in Romania or on the set of “Strange Wilderness”?
Six Million Dollar Man action figure, followed by otters. Seriously, no one thinks this is real, right?
