New Bigfoot Cryptocinema

What can I say? I’m speechless.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

    Uuummm….eerrrr….o.k.??!!

  3. red_pill_junkie responds:

Cryptozoology is a heck of a great hobby, as far as I’m concerned, but I do not know if people should see it as a means to escape poverty, or to get ‘vindicated’ by the world. Of course I must remind myself that the best evidence so far for the existence of Sasquatch (The Patterson-Gimly clip), was conceived with a comercial mentality (althoguh things didn’t turn out as Patterson expected, a note of caution to any crypto-prospecters out there).

It may be an interesting social documentary, although I seriously doubt it will show ground-breaking evidence.

  4. dle responds:

    A few comments:

I live not far away from Portsmouth. Living in southern Ohio is tough right now and getting tougher. I can identify with the plight.

One of the interesting zoological phenomena happening in this area is the return of black bear. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what these men are seeing.

  5. AlbertaSasquatch responds:

I thought a few of their pictures looked alright. I think I would see this movie just so I could see some more of their pictures. I wonder if they have any movies? At least they are out there looking even if it is for financial gain. Just my two cents.

  6. Spinach Village responds:

Ohio is a big bigfoot state. The Appalachian mountains start just at the edge of Cleveland (steep hills) and progressively get bigger as you follow them down south towards West Virginia. Also Ohio has experienced a huge White tail deer explosion (due to lack of natural predators, besides coyotes). But I think that has something to due with the rise in Cougar sightings and possibly the rise in Bigfoot sightings.

I like the tone of the video trailer. Even though some of the pictures are Inconclusive.

The thing about Bigfoot is that it naturally has great forest camouflage. (The color of tree bark ,roughly, and stands vertical like trees, not to mention that it is known to be predominately nocturnal). Those facts combined with its upright walk make it an easy animal to hoax.

But just because the picture is blurry, I don’t think we should call them liars. Unfortunately the hoaxers make it harder for everybody and give more excuses to the so called “debunkers”.

    Thanks for the clip 🙂

  7. andrewzoo responds:

Oh boy. Dallas Gilbert and Wayne Burton somehow got a film made about their “research.” Well, good luck to them, I guess. At least they are out there keeping the dream alive. I’ve never been able to see the bigfeet (sic?) in Dallas’ photos, but maybe this movie is less about bigfoot and more about their friendship and mutual interest in the creature than anything else. Might be kind of interesting, if only to get an insight into the personal, human side of these two individuals. I’ll watch it if it ever hits the bargain bin down at the Wal-Mart.

  8. idle jack responds:

Hey Loren nothing wrong here just some real nice guys tryin to find bigfoot and maybe sort out some home problems too like everybody else too.

  9. things-in-the-woods responds:

the most interesting thing here is that guys comb-over. spectacular.

  10. sausage1 responds:

Yeah, that’s some masterpiece of a hairstyle.

Interesting clip, and a little sad, don’t you think? I liked these two fellas, good luck to them.

  11. Hawkeye responds:

I’ve never met Dallas but I have visited his website numerous times guess I’m still waiting to see a bigfoot in one of his pics, oh well. I agree with what Andrewzoo says above that this seems more like a friendship movie than a BF movie.

Seriously anyone out there do a search for Dallas Gilbert Bigfoot and look through the photos he has on his website and you’ll know what I’m talking about. It will also give you a little insight into him too if you ask me.

  12. gatorgirl08 responds:

Good for them, I know I will buy the film. Being from Florida and some of it quite rural, I’ve seen many people in their same situations. I think they are a bunch of down to earth people, who have probably spent most of there lives in the woods. Who’s to say the pictures on his website aren’t real. I have seen them and there are a couple of them that look pretty good to me? That is just my opinion.

  13. redwooddawn responds:

It looks like the crypto-version of “American Movie.” Maybe they can get Mike Schank to do some screams.

  14. nick_beyondthetree responds:

Granted, they seem like good, honest guys, but I have yet to be convinced by any of Dallas Gilbert’s photos.

Maybe there are Bigfoots/feet in the pictures, but unless they are clearly identifiable they become somewhat redundant as eveidence. I can’t imagine that a Bigfoot skeptic would change their opinion as a result of viewing his photos.

Still, I’ll watch the movie and probably enjoy it. It looks interesting, even if not for the bigfoot element.
