Sasquatch Sighted in Parade
Posted by: Loren Coleman on June 8th, 2008
Stuart Tomlinson of The Oregonian on June 07, 2008, posted information on the RoseFest Parade in Oregon.
“It appears from this float that Sasquatch, Bigfoot or whatever you want to call the mythical creature of Northwest forests, is looking for a new home — he’s riding the Oregon Realtors Float.”

“Three rooms, with river view please, privacy preferred. Bigfoot on the Oregon Realtors float.”
In breaking news, some surprising new video has surfaced of this swinging Sasquatch. No rumors of a massacre involving this Bigfoot, however, have been tied to this footage. Yet.
For Cryptomundians, ah, this specific Sasquatch suit has become very familiar.
This was the same kind of suit used to fake out the BFRO by Penn & Teller’s production company, when the “Showtime” debunkers created the hoax Sonoma Bigfoot video and did totally fool the BFRO.
These suits are the now widely available Bigfoot/Sasquatch costumes from McAvene Designs of North Hollywood, California. The suits are fitted for muscular actors of the correct size (6’7″), and the one pictured mirrors what appears on the Penn & Teller program and in the Oregon float.
About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
OK, I can see the headline now. Local hunter catches bigfoot on camera and wins Bushnell million. Next day headline-Local hunter kills best friend, wife gets “Bushnell million”. Only in America could people be so free, open, and stupid.
I don’t understand; where are the braids, ponytail, bangs, stick, nail polish, gold tooth, nipple shields, mark of the White Hand of Saruman…oh, wait. Stop with the nail polish. Those stills don’t come out until next year. My bad.
I’ve got to admit the costumes are getting better, but there are still many differences from Patty. And this suit is good for discussion, BECA– USE of several things I notice right off the bat:
1) the gait of the guy walking is still very human and there are subtle differences that are different than the Patterson footage.
2) the hands are not proportionate, why? because they allow the guy in the suit to make them functional.
3) the fur around the head–the fur covers up the neck of the guy, which shows me that human build is much different than what was in Patterson’s creature.
4) Body proportion: the guy pictured here in the suit is just plain built differently. Something I would characterize as not just an individual build, but a build that is similar in all humans. And again, it does not fit with what was walking in the Patterson footage.
There, is that enough to debate?
It looks like a Klingon. I’m not buyin’ it.
There are free, open and stupid people throughout the world. Please don’t stereotype.
Smiley face Bigfoot FTW! 😀
I’m 6′-4″, I’m getting me one of those costumes! Maybe that way I would get a faster service when I go to the bank 🙂
Cool custome!!!
Still cannot stack up against Patty, though…
Good parade, too…
