Hackney Horrors

Further to Loren’s post on Thursday of a curious “thing” photographed on England’s Hackney Marshes, readers of Cryptomundo might find this interesting: an article from 2008 by Neil Arnold (author of many books including Monster! and The Mystery Animals of the British Isles: London) that demonstrates this is far from being the first time high-strangeness of a potentially cryptozoological nature has been reported on Hackney Marshes.

As Neil (pictured with me, above, a couple of years ago) notes in part of the controversy: “It began on 27th December 1981, when four young boys came across a beast they described as ‘a giant great growling hairy thing’ as they were playing in the thick snow on the marsh…”
