The Coming Army of Yeti
Posted by: Loren Coleman on August 1st, 2007
The time is never too early to plan ahead for a movie that might interest us. On August 1, 2008, a year from today, Mummy 3 opens.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is to be directed by Rob Cohen (also directed Stealth, XXX, The Skulls, and Dragonheart).
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has a plot set in ancient China and follows the background of the film’s villain, China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang (played by Jet Li). The film will move forward to a post-World War II setting where regulars characters Rick and Alex head to the forbidden tombs of China. In the Himalayas they discover a mummy that can change forms due to a female wizard’s (Michelle Yeoh) curse.
One side cryptid adventure in the movie is a battle between the Emperor and an army of big snarling Yeti. The beasts come into the fight and turn the tide in favor of the forces of good, for awhile.
In the next few years, Yeti may form have a more “starring” role in motion pictures, and this army of Yeti may be a hint of things to come.
About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
Jet Li vs. Yeti? Hollywood is finally coming through with the sort of fight promised in the never-made Jean-Claude Van Damme vs. Bigfoot movie, “Abominable.”
Hollywood has been stealing ideas from the Bigfoot for decades, and failing to pay royalties. Once Bigfoot gets constitutional rights, then they will take Hollywood to the cleaners, and likely set aside their own protected wilderness by buying up the State of Texas.
Sound’s like an interesting flick, I will waiting for it’s release…
“The Primevals” is the one I want to see; http://www.animationtoolworks.com/examples/primeval.html
Sounds good.
I think that is radical, but the so called Yeti deserve to be in their own movie. We always here of bigfoot scaring people, but they are probably just as scared of us. They might have ruled this earth before us humans.
