“For me the world is weird because it is stupendous, awesome, mysterious, unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you that you must assume responsibility for being here, in this marvelous world, in this marvelous desert, in this marvelous time. I want to convince you that you must learn to make every act count, since you are going to be here for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it.”
― Carlos Castaneda, Journey to Ixtlan
Hey, forget Bigfoot – you had me at “a scantily clad woman” . . .
DEFINITELY NOT the only strange thing in the South!
I really have little patience for people trying to hitch on to the Bigfoot “movement.” There is really nothing “paranormal” about it. As the name of this website implies, it is merely the idea that an unknown species could be living in the wild of North America.
The spirit world, demons, orifice probing aliens and inter-dimensional beings, while entertaining, have little at all to do with either cryptozoology or Bigfoot.
@mandors — We’ll know that Bigfoot is really a biological species when and only when we get a type specimen. The problem is that all reports of Bigfoot being captured, killed or found dead — and there are a number of them — are side-show items from ages past, newspaper reports from an era when the papers even more flagrantly than today made up interesting news to attract readers, urban legends, and hoaxes. On top of that, the large number of reported sightings, paired with the small number of even superficially plausible photographs and videos, has led some people to conclude that Bigfoot has a paranormal-like ability to detect cameras and technology. It’s no wonder that quite a few people have concluded that Bigfoot is not biological.
Besides, you object to calling Bigfoot paranormal and not to calling a scantily clad woman paranormal?
