Reported Bigfoot Sightings In Spotsylvania – UPDATE

On Wednesday I posted a small article about a rash of recent Bigfoot sightings in the area of Lake Anna in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Since that time, I have discovered another article from a local online news site about those reported sightings and the efforts of Billy Willard of the, “Sasquatch Watch of Virginia” to uncover more evidence.

As I reported on Wednesday, the area that encompasses a five-mile circle around Lake Anna, has become the centralised location for 14 reported sightings of Bigfoot over the past year. The first of these sightings came from a local couple and their teen who spotted the animal about 300 yards away before it ran away.

According to the woman, who wished to keep her identity, and the exact local of the sighting private, stated, “When I say running, well, all I can explain is it looked like it was on ice skates.”

“If he lives here, and I think he does, it is smarter than a dog and dogs are smart animals,” said the woman’s male companion.

When asked if what they saw could have been a bear, the woman replied, “I’ve been in the woods since I was 5 years old; I know what a bear looks like.”

But, that was not the woman’s only encounter with the animal, in January of this year she also heard some vocalisations that she could not identify, “To me, the sound of hearing this thing was scarier than seeing it. It (the sounds) started with a low rumble and ended in a high-pitch scream.”

These two chance encounters prompted the woman to contact Billy Willard of the, “Sasquatch Watch of Virginia”, who has been out the location of these two encounters a dozen times this year to search for clues that Bigfoot was, is, in the area.

Last month, Willard and his group believe that they found the evidence the needed. While on a late-night expedition, they filmed a large, dark colored creature with red eyes.

“The eyes on the videotape, that was pretty impressive,” Willard replied.

Two other researchers had their jeep shaken by something of immense size. Whatever it was left large, human-like tracts, which the group cast.

This past weekend, another expedition into the region was cut short by bad weather, but, again the group was able to cast another print near a pond.

Willard has traveled across the country in his search for Bigfoot, but in 2007 near Paris, Texas the researcher had a very terrifying experience, being (allegedly) attacked by Bigfoot while in his tent.

“I could feel nothing but thick hair on whatever this was,” he said. “My hand didn’t fit around the limb and I balled up my fist and hit it.”

Apparently that was enough to make the creature let go.

With all of this new evidence coming to light, it can be assumed that a Bigfoot-like animal inhabits the woods around Lake Anna. Hopefully Willard and his teams of researchers will continue to uncover more evidence to prove this point.
