The Furfangs
Posted by: Craig Woolheater on February 22nd, 2010
Straight from Italy to Cryptomundo from director Andrea Ricca.
“The Furfangs” is a sci-fi short movie, with 3D special effects, about mysterious and aggressive creatures who came from the space. It recalls the 80s movies like “Gremlins” or “Critters” of which the Furfangs could be the digital legacy.
The short lasts five minutes and was realized by only two people: the director Andrea Ricca and the 3D graphic designer Gennaro Acanfora.
The work is a zero budget production.
It had no external contributions and it made no payements to the sharers.
The original score is by Gianfilippo De Mattia.
It was realized with the only help of a MiniDV camera and a computer.
Andrea Ricca began his career as a comics designer, then he became a 2D-3D graphic. Later on he did experience in local TVs and also directed a variety show.Andrea Ricca

And not cryptozoological at all!
I wonder if it will reach the status of such cinema masterpieces, as “Critters” and “Tremors”? LOL
Reminds me of the Nubbins from an episode of SyFy’s Sanctuary.
Cool video. Not cryptozoological, as Loren says, but fun.
And JMonkey: Do not knock Tremors. I’m talking about the FIRST one.
That one had great special effects, a great story and Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon in it. Plus that one was APPARENTLY based on a true crypto subject—the Mongolian Death Worm.
furfangs looks like critters big time
tremors had 3 sequels
the creatures were called graboids
the first 1 was the best 1 in my opinion
My humble apologies. I too am actually a fan of tremors. Kevin Bacon is awesome. Don’t forget the performance given by Reba McEntire. Besides who can resist that cute little Mongolian Death Worm.
Tremors was hilarious. Thanks for the video, Craig.
