Tim the Yowie Man, the National Museum of Australia’s Resident Cryptonaturalist, has landed a regular radio gig. He will be hosting a travel show with Macquarie Regional Radioworks (MRR) on Sunday mornings that will be syndicated and broadcast on their stations in NSW, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
The show, titled "Get Lost Travel", will follow Tim around the world is search of mysterious places and the creatures that inhabit them.
The first airing of the new program know as ‘Get Lost Travel’ will see Tim the Yowie Man document his recent trip to Llangorse Lake in Wales where he explores recent sightings of ‘Gorsey,’ who is being dubbed the single humped first cousin of ‘Nessie the Loch Ness Monster.’
Tim the Yowie Man said this isn’t going to be your average travel show.
“I will still be talking about travel destinations and what they have to offer but will also be explaining my unique quests like searching for a massive monster in the Swiss Alps and uncovering the remains of a mysterious ancient pyramid in the Samoas” he said.
Many may remember Tim for some of his other feats, uncovering the then top secret location of the CBS series Survivor II The Australian Outback. He then went on to drop candy bars to the contestants below from a helicopter.
He also recently won a lawsuit against Cadbury Schweppes who tried to wrest the trademark of "Tim the Yowie Man" away from him because they felt it infringed on their Yowie chocolate confections.
Tim also received mass media coverage when he spotted the yowie (Australia’s version of Bigfoot) in Brindabella Mountains of Canberra in 1994
