Happy Anniversary Creature!

Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of The Creature From the Black Lagoon‘s theatrical release.
60 YEARS AGO, THIS VERY NIGHT. . . fans raced from theaters, forever being a bit more cautious when wading into the water. Never knowing what might lurk just beneath the surface. Happy Birthday, Creech!Famous Monsters of Filmland
About Craig Woolheater
Co-founder of Cryptomundo in 2005.
I have appeared in or contributed to the following TV programs, documentaries and films:
OLN's Mysterious Encounters: "Caddo Critter", Southern Fried Bigfoot, Travel Channel's Weird Travels: "Bigfoot", History Channel's MonsterQuest: "Swamp Stalker", The Wild Man of the Navidad, Destination America's Monsters and Mysteries in America: Texas Terror - Lake Worth Monster, Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot: Return to Boggy Creek and Beast of the Bayou.
Does anyone know how many Creature movies were made? I remember the original, and also THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US. But I seem to remember a third, but not the title.
‘Revenge of the Creature’ was the sequel…then came ‘The Creature Walks Among Us.’
I remember seeing “the Creature From The Black Lagoon” in a small theater in NYC when I was 10 years old on a double bill with “This Island Earth”. The “Creature” film was in 3D and I wore the two toned glasses they handed out then. It was pretty goofy and nothing like the 3D films are today. I remember thinking that Julie Adams was very beautiful.
Trivia note: The Gillman met Abbot & Costello in a Colgate Comedy Hour television show in 1953 where they revamped some of their routines from the “Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein” 1948 film and then Costello meets the Creature much to the live audience’s delight.
