About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
That’s Dr. Matthew Johnson, he had an encounter in 2000 I believe. I’ve heard him talk about it a number of times, he’s always sounded very sincere and surprisingly authentic.
I’m going with Matthew Johnson, in the year 2000, saying “I swear, I caught a fish THIS big just the day before!”
Dr. Matthew Johnson describes the creature he claims he saw while hiking with his family in Oregon Caves National Park, July 1, 2000.
Is he saying ‘I once caught a Sasquatch that was THIS big, but I threw him back’?
Mathew Johnson, 2001,
“and I was like Heeeyah. Feel my KungFu.”
While I have read Johnson’s account, I wouldn’t have recognized this as I’ve never seen a pic of him.
Speaking of coughjohnsoncough.
Genitalia, every time they are reported to have been observed in detail in sasquatch males, are described as…let’s just say not like that. He’s probably saying: “You’re thinking THIS before you see one. I can tell you no way, Jose…”
I have only heard one in-person account of a sasquatch sighting, from East Texas. The guy who saw it – at very close range, for a length of time that would make any sort of innocent mistake inconceivable – was at the TX Conference last September. He said he’d be the most rabid scoffer going if this hadn’t happened to him when he was young. (He joined the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy as a field researcher on the strength of this encounter.) He had a whole hotel lobby of us, including Peter Matthiessen, pretty riveted. (Peter was taking notes.) He didn’t waver, one bit, from any detail of one of the more detailed encounter reports I have ever read. I know this because it is such an impressive report that I’ve virtually memorized it.
I believe it’s a frame capture from Dr. Johnson’s “Five Dollar Foot Long” Subway commercial.
Yep, that looks like good ole Dr. Johnson, allright.
Probably saying: “And that sucker’s foot was THIS big!!!”
Cool beans.
