The award-winning follow-up to Minerva Monster, recounting the chilling sightings of the beast of Whitehall in the summer of 1976 is to premiere at Whitehall Armory this Saturday. Seth Breedlove, the film’s director and editor, has created Beast of Whitehall, an atmospheric film that will intrigue anyone with an interest in the timeless legend of Bigfoot, or other similar community lore surrounding creatures that appear to have no rational or scientific explanation.
The film is about the mysterious sightings of an unidentified beast in Whitehall in August 1976. A number of eyewitnesses, including members of law enforcement agencies, saw a strange, huge, hairy, man-like creature in the Adirondack region, in the northeastern part of upstate New York. Now, an independent film crew from Ohio, including producer/composer Brandon Dalo, have made a film about the ominous events. The film will officially debut on April 2, 2016, at the Whitehall Athletic Club, 62 Poultney Street, Whitehall, NY 12887.
The premiere will take place at a free event which is being hosted by the Small Town Monsters Production Company in association with the Whitehall Arts and Recreation Committee. Small Town Monsters are producing a series of films exploring mysterious, legendary creatures. Paul Bartholomew will open the event at 3:00 pm with a spoken presentation, and two screenings are scheduled for 4:00 and 5:00 pm. At 6:00 pm, Seth Breedlove and Brandon Dalo will field questions from the audience, along with members of the film’s cast including Brian Gosselin and Bill Brann. Refreshments will be available. Also present will be Maz Adams, whose illustrations feature in the film, and The Northern Sasquatch Research Society, who will display Bigfoot footprint casts and other evidence.
Artist Sam Shearon has created an incredible poster capturing the foreboding ambience of the film, and producer Brandon Dalo has successfully produced a haunting soundtrack that will keep viewers gripped for the duration. A trailer for the film is currently available on YouTube. Beast of Whitehall has already been screened at film festivals across the country. The following festivals that have officially selected Beast of Whitehall include; The Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards, Hollywood International Moving Pictures Festival, New Classic Film Festival, and the Colony Short Film Festival. The film will open the Canton Film Festival in Ohio on April 21.
