John Bindernagel

Last Saturday, The Globe and Mail featured an article written about one of the "good guys" in Bigfoot Research.
His name, John Bindernagel.
I first had the pleasure of meeting John in the spring of 2000 at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference, where he was a featured speaker. Myself and 2 other members of the Texas Bigfoot Research Center spent time talking with John on a hike that Sunday afternoon. We invited John to have dinner with us that evening.
It was quite a memorable evening. While he may have said this to everyone that he met that weekend, when he told us that spending time with us, talking Bigfoot, was the high point of his weekend, we didn’t doubt him. I surely felt the same way about our time spent in his company.
For you see, he is the most genuine man you will ever meet in this field of research. He listens to what YOU have to say, not focusing on what HE is going to say next.
We invited him to come speak in Texas at our first Texas Bigfoot Conference in September of 2001, and he came back the next year as well. He and his wife Joan drove from Vancouver Island, well, there is a ferry trip to the mainland, all the way to Texas and back both times.
In 2001, we took John to one of the areas where we were conducting research. The next year, he spent 3 days and nights with us in the field leading up to the conference.
Being a resident of Vancouver Island as he is, I don’t get to see him very often. I did have the pleasure of seeing him on 2 occasions last year, at the Bellingham Sasquatch Research Conference, as well as the following weekend at the Seattle Sasquatch Symposium.
I invited John to come speak at the Bigfoot in Texas? lecture series this summer, but there was a conflict with a month-long trip to visit his son who is in Bolivia and he had to decline the invitation.
I think that it may be time to have John come back to Texas this fall…
I would like to see my good friend once again…

Good afternoon Bigfoot folks….nice blog about John….all the more reason to make this year’s conference in Jefferson….hardest part of being new to an area is knowing who to believe and who to ignore….JMHO
I think TBRC will validate the Bigman first…just a hunch….hang in there and watch where you put your hands and feet…shake out those boots…LOL
seeing is believing…

Craig, I think that would be a great idea. Just do it fast so he will be able to make it.
