TBRC Unveils New Website
Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 1st, 2008
After much anticipation and several false starts, with initial planning going back to late 2006, the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy (TBRC) proudly unveiled its new website, on February 23, 2008. The site was developed by Ideapark of Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with the TBRC Web Committee (Craig Woolheater, Daryl Colyer, Alton Higgins, Chris Buntenbah and Gino Napoli).
“We came up with this design,” Craig Woolheater said, “as we sought to convey a clean, professional and mainstream appearance to tie in with the group’s non-profit status and no-nonsense approach to research.”
There is still more web development in store for the TBRC, as the public site was considered to be “Stage One.” A versatile, “behind-the-curtain” data management system, or IRA (Incident Reports Administration) is now being developed and its completion will be considered “Stage Two” of the entire process. The early stages of IRA are have already been implemented.
Even though the site appears at first glance to be completed, the Web Committee and Ideapark continue to work hard behind the scenes to merge, standardize and map old report data from the previous site into the new site.
Completion of Stage Two is anticipated by the end of 2008.
About Craig Woolheater
Co-founder of Cryptomundo in 2005.
I have appeared in or contributed to the following TV programs, documentaries and films:
OLN's Mysterious Encounters: "Caddo Critter", Southern Fried Bigfoot, Travel Channel's Weird Travels: "Bigfoot", History Channel's MonsterQuest: "Swamp Stalker", The Wild Man of the Navidad, Destination America's Monsters and Mysteries in America: Texas Terror - Lake Worth Monster, Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot: Return to Boggy Creek and Beast of the Bayou.
I look forward to checking it out. With the BFRO’s shift to cryptotourism, their site is little more than a travel agency these days with fewer and fewer articles, reports, and findings released to the general public. At least they still have their database of sightings and media reports. I hope that once it is completed this Texas site will surpass these issues to become a real tool for the public. Because, ultimately, it is that cooperative nature between researchers and eyewitnesses that allows us to gather the necessary data to further hone in on the ultimate goal.
The new site looks really nice!
Excellent website. Not that the old one was bad, but I think this one sets a new standard. Very well done. So many other sites are very cluttered, but I think this new TBRC site is clean and very easy to navigate through. I really like the sasquatch icons to represent the encounters on maps.
Wow! Great site! Very nice.
Agreed Patrick. It’s too bad that the TBRC doesn’t seem to aspire to make their organization a North American organization as opposed to regional. If they did that, then we would have a continental group truly dedicated to real research, rather than a goofy bigfoot tour service.
Simply a wonderful job. Hats off to Craig, Daryl and the whole board of directors. It’s Great…..
It’s a great site. I’ve enjoyed it a lot.
Maybe some “skeptics” we know ought to give it a really good read. It would acquaint them with just how little aware they are of the most compelling evidence for the sasquatch, which just happens to be the vast majority of the evidence. Just a thought.
Great news!! Best of luck to you all!!
congratulations to Craig and everyone else whom i’ve yet to greet and near meet on the web site. it does look and navigate extremely well!
ala the geico ads: “So Easy to Nav, Even a Cryptid Could Use It.” 😉
cue angry Sasquatch glaring at said ad!
anyway, congrats! launching a web site is so much more difficult than the “EZ Launch” template software blurbs would have you believe!
Congrats to Woolheater!!!
Wow the site is so much more organized and professional. Great job.
DWA, now you know where to refer people to when you give your ever present RSR (read sightings reports!) line. 🙂 They have an excellent database of sightings reports, and the TBRC is one of the research groups I respect most. From what I see, there is good attention to making sure the research is done in a legitimate and scientific way, as well as using state of the art equipment and innovative strategies. I wish them the very best of luck in their search.
Great website. Very informative. Although I did like the Bigfoot drawing with the logo that was on the old homepage. I checked out the TBRC store which is great, and I think I may be tempted into buying a Bigfoot mousemat and mug.
How about adding Bigfoot house slippers. I’d buy them!
The new website design looks fantastic. Very professional and I love the automatically rotating header images, smart!
hey craig & everyone wow the new tbrc website looks very informative indeed. thanks bill green 🙂
