Animal Planet Finds Bigfoot June 5th
Posted by: Guy Edwards on May 5th, 2011
Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot will air sooner than originally slated. The new official air date is June 5th at 9pm.
RealScreen.com reports, “The four-person team from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) goes to locations of alleged Sasquatch sightings to investigate with reconstructions and the latest technology to determine whether they were real or not.”
While another source Variety.com describes the show premise as, “…a four-person team from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, which exists, as they search for the Sasquatch in forests across the country where sightings have been reported: North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.
‘The main mission of the BFRO is to resolve the mystery surrounding this great American phenomenon,’ said org co-founder Matt Moneymaker. ‘I can’t think of a better way to do that than by going on location and visiting each reported Sasquatch sighting.’”

I wish them luck and hope they find some convincing evidence. But I’m not going to hold my breath.
MM says: “I can’t think of a better way to do that [i.e. resolve the mystery of Bigfoot] than by going on location and visiting each reported Sasquatch sighting.”
I hope this is a misquote.
One can visit the sites of sightings, but one cannot visit “each reported Sasquatch sighting,” unless time travel is the hidden secret of this program.
Not sure what new angle is the “added value” here that convinced a channel company to buy this series. Appears to be more of the same old, same old. Reconstructions, high tech, and the last five minutes of a show with a “verdict”???
This series has been advertised by one of the program’s hosts as “big news in the big news” and as the “big announcement”. Let’s only hope so, but to be honest: It will be the same kind of inconclusive “crypto” TV show (to put it mildly) we have been plagued with so many times in the last couple of years. It certainly will be “fun” to watch – especially for the skeptics. I just wish they would only come out with shows like this when they have really something interesting to report! If you want to watch just another wilderness travel documentary on Alaska, Florida, Georgia etc. then it might be great entertainment to you. But if you look for anything which brings us nearer to the truth about bigfoot, then you might as well watch “Planet of the Apes”. Or to explain it to the music lovers among the crypto folks: They always announce “big news” and “added value” and therefore we, simple-hearted as we bigfoot folks are, expect the reunion of The Beatles, Deep Purple and Nirvana in one Super Band – but what we always get is merely the reunion of the Spice Girls. Meanwhile the skeptics laugh their hearts out.
Cheers
If any of these shows ever manages to stumble across hardcore evidence of the subject cryptid’s existance, it’d make the news before the show even aired. I look forward to the day when we get a really solid documentary about the research team who actually broke the case wide open, no if’s and’s or Biscardi’s.
😀
I’m with Gridbug. Like the footage of the giant squid, it hit the news and then the tv shows followed suit, not the other way around.
A secret like that wouldn’t stay secret for long. Heck I wouldn’t be able to wait for some show that took months of production time if I had real proof.
No, it’s just the latest as far as evidence, I’m sure.
Maybe a few new anecdotes, but I seriously doubt we’re looking at any real breakthroughs or earth shattering evidence.
Prove me wrong, I dare you.
