One of the prize pieces of the Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists.
Suzanne Gerber (above).
Suzanne Gerber has collected an incredible gallery of pieces in her “long-awaited Taxidermy, Cryptozoology & Animal Curiosa Überpost – dedicated to a very precious and talented friend” of hers: “The lovely Jessica Joslin.”
Open the magnificent door to her Taxidermia Wurzeltodensis and visit her large online collection of cryptotaxidermy and more.
By the way, I was watching Showtime’s early Dexter episodes two weeks ago, and was surprised to hear and see that one of the serial killer suspects was a practicing “cryptotaxidermist.” (I wonder the source of the art shown.) I have not registered consciously that name being used in such a televised fictional fashion before. Of course, I would imagine that all my cryptotaxidermist buddies either loved or hated the reference. It was to kill for, that’s for sure. 😉
About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct).
Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015.
Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
Some very cool stuff on the Taxidermia Wurzeltodensis site.
cool and weird–weird and cool. I could go one indefinitely. I think I like her sense of humor, but I think I’d have to spend some time on her site to make sure.
Thank you so much for your kind post, Loren. I’m deeply honoured to be featured on Cryptomundo.
Suzanne, fascinating site! I too am a Gorey fan. Wonderful stuff. Thanks for sharing.
wow suzanne is pretty
Ok, I was SO trying not to mention the fact that Suzanne was a drop-dead hottie.
Suzanne – You are to taxidermy, what Stephen King is to fiction.
I mean that in a good way!
On the front page, the creature all shriveled up, baring it’s teeth, looks like Charlie Murphy, from the Chapelle Show.
