The Mothman of Point Pleasant Film Premieres at Mothman Festival Event

This weekend The Mothman Festival once again descends upon downtown Point Pleasant. While the town is no stranger to large crowds of paranormal enthusiasts and fun-seekers alike, this year’s event might push the attendance to record heights. Bolstered by guests from televisions “Mountain Monsters” and a number of high profile authors and personalities the festival is looking for attendees to come by the thousands.

Though the annual festival doesn’t kick off officially until Saturday morning, this year there will be a Friday night “Kick start” to the shindig that includes the first public, big screen showing of the hit independent documentary, The Mothman of Point Pleasant.

Bigfoot Days romps into Willow Creek Sept. 2-3

Locals and Bigfoot enthusiasts alike are expected to flock to “The Legend of Bigfoot: 50 Years in the Making” Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2-3, complete with a parade launching from the Willow Creek-China Flat Museum where there will be an Ice Cream Social and exhibit of Bigfoot artifacts.

Fishermen Face Down Sea Serpent

These two fishermen faced down a sea monster in Casco Bay

The creature had a long neck and a broad head held up, out of the water. It stopped 125 feet from their boat. Though they could see no eyes, they knew it was looking at them.

The Hairy Man at The Tube

The pictures have become part of American counterculture and started a 50 year search. The tall hairy man-like figure walking in a half step and looking cautiously around, unaware of the photographer. It was these images that inspired a generation to hunt for a primitive bipedal beings.

Silver Bridge Collapse: 49 Years Ago

Right at this moment 49 year ago, the mighty Silver Bridge collapsed into the icy waters of the Ohio river, taking with it 46 innocent lives. The town of Point Pleasant was never quite the same after that horrific tragedy.
