I live and grew up on around the Leek area and the Mermaid’s Pool has always fascinated me.
Not necessarily the mermaid, but the pool itself. Supposedly bottomless and somehow linked to another mermaid pool a few miles away, also at the same attitude.
You tell ’em Nick! Why not a mermaid? We want to believe in Bigfoot, Nessie, Dinosaurs, Unicorns, Dover Demons and the like, so much more so why not the mermaid? These tales are very romantic and we entertain the thought of them so much, the romance that is and the passion, which is why people do what they do. Cryptology? I’ll keep on the look out here and wait and see. Thanks Nick! You always top my list of reading sir.
