A Law Enforcement Officer writes “Hey Wes, I will make this as short as possible. I have a video form a trail cam.
The video is not conclusive as it doesn’t show the face. Here is the history of the video. I am a 20+ year Law Enforcement Officer, three of which were done as a Game Warden. I received this video from a collage of mine. He was assigned to a federal task force working gorilla grown Marijuana.
This group would go into remote areas of Northern California and set trail cams in an attempt to catch the growers on film.. This particular trail cam was 27 miles back in the Sequoia National Forest, not accessible by vehicles only ATV then foot. He retrieved the trail cam and found the attached video. He did not know what to do with it as he was afraid of repercussions etc. I openly speak about the subject and my beliefs and another officer referred him to me and he provided me the video. I only ask we discuss what to release about the video before sharing if you decide to.
I also have experienced events, i.e. tree knocks, footsteps, and extreme fear for unexplained reason. I have also found a few footprints.”
I spoke to the Law Enforcement Officer today and he said that trail cam appeared to be ripped off of the tree and this creature had buried it in leaves. I spoke to the officer and he said the camera’s are in such remote locations that they are only set to record 5-10 clips so that guys do not have to go out constantly to replace SD cards. They setup the camera’s to bust drug trafficking.
The officer did not make any claims as to what it is but he severed as a game warden for many years and says “it is not a bear.” The officer said “This thing ripped the trail cam off of the tree and started putting leaves over it.

Finally something on a trail cam ! Looks interesting. But obviously inconclusive since we can’t see the face.
Well now this is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. I would say it is a live animal, and it appears to be a primate. Wish I knew if back story was true and this wasn’t taken in orangutan enclosure. Definitely a great video wish we saw more tho….
When they said “gorilla grown marijuana” I guess they were right.
Looks like a lower lip at the 19/20 second mark. Watch it on YouTube and slow it down to .25 speed. A lower lip of what though? Likely a Bear in cinnamon phase. Interesting video.
5 second mark could be the elongated nipple of a nursing mother bear, or a finger/thumb.
It’s not a blobsquatch. That’s nice, but ultimately this is inconclusive.
Well, it’s definitely a brown furry thing. I’d love to get excited, really I would, but it surely looks a lot like a bear.
“He severed[sic] as a game warden for many years and says ‘it is not a bear.'”. Is it too rude to ask: Why isn’t it a bear?
In a way this video is something of a Fortean cliche: It’s close but just not quite enough to be certain. The frustration and uncertainty continues.
It also occurs to me that there should be forensic evidence left at the site although it’s probably too late now.
As ever: More information needed.
So this camera is set off by motion? Why is there no footage of the creature coming up to the camera? No hand/paw grabbing it, possibly covering the lens and ripping it off? No footage of it being put on the ground? Just a nice already in action sequence, in the bright day, sun nice and highlighting the fur…
You’d think if it was smart enough to notice the box and understand it is a camera, (don’t get me started on how it would know what a camera is) it’d be smart enough to either put it lens down, or more likely, toss the camera way the hell away off into the woods some random direction. But no, we get a lovingly framed shot of the legs, moving into view, apparently the toes facing off to the left and then leaves that somehow fully obscure the lens, not even a little bit of light leaking in.
Unless that isn’t the legs but the arms, then that creature is a southpaw…
@CAETE: The story says that this video was in a collage of videos a friend gave him. So I guess, what we have is, all there is…
On the other hand, if you look carefully at the arm movement towards the end (when whatever it is is burying the trail cam). To me, it is either authentic or a human hoax. No way a bear moves its forelegs like that!
@gollumses Thanks for the extra bit of info!
Regarding the movement… the more I watch it, I am inclined to think this is someone who made boots, so to speak, of fake fur as it is easier to fake a small portion of a creature than the whole thing.
To me, it looks like they are standing close to the camera in their sasquaboots and then step to the left, bringing both of the lower legs into the shot. Then, with their right foot, they are kicking up dirt, leaves onto the camera.
