Bigfoot Spotted in Arizona?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 31st, 2006

As several of the readers here on Cryptomundo alluded to in the post about the latest trail cam photo of Bigfoot, the subject of the photo resembles the Phoenix Suns mascot.

Phoenix Suns Gorilla

The Suns were formed in 1968 when it was determined the citizens of Phoenix needed something to do other than complain about the weather. Soon after, the organization decided to hire a gorilla mascot because, as I’ve said many times, primate costumes will never go out of style.

Do gorilla costumes scare young children? You bet they do, but I say it’s worth the risk.

As a huge Dallas Mavericks fan, I have been watching the Western Conference Finals, and I have had nary a sighting of the Suns Gorilla. He has been as elusive as Bigfoot.

SuperSonics Squatch

However, the Seattle SuperSonics’ mascot is Squatch.

Squatch’s cousin Slush, is the mascot for the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse mascot.

Looks like Slush has a way with the ladies…

And being a native of Dallas, I couldn’t help posting the photo of Slush with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders.

oh that wacky gorilla. my dad was on national TV when he decided to take the cowboy hat off my dads head and pretend to have a showdown in the aisle . this was many years ago but he isn’t gone. i see him all the time.

but a sighting without pictures is just another report

The goofy looking mascot suits in their uniforms look more believable then that trail cam photo did. At least it was exposed as a hoax very quickly.

  3. CryptoInformant responds:

wouldn’t it be funny if one of them turned out to be the real thing?

  4. catastronaut responds:

Assuming the dunk is something that Squatch can do in person (and not just for his 8×10), I think it’s pretty damn impressive that he can pull that feat off while wearing the costume.

“Well, the bad news is that you didn’t make the team…the good news, however, is that we’ve got a Sasquatch suit in your size…”

  5. fredfacker responds:

The mascots use little trampolines to make their dunks. Turbo was the best though because although not being a cryptid, he could do flips in the air before dunking.

  6. twblack responds:

Man that Slush is one LUCKY feller. Never thought I would want to be a mascot but after seeing the photos WOW might just be the thing EHH!!!

  7. Autumnbelle responds:

Ok, those mascots are more frightening than a herd (flock? mess? tribe?) of wild Bigfoot!

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
