Finding Bigfoot Brings Search to Mississippi

Canton and Jackson are no strangers to movie cameras, but instead of the towns’ historic locations, soon the cameras will be traveling into surrounding campsites, farms and hunting land in search of the elusive ‘Bigfoot.’

Producers for the hit Animal Planet show “Finding Bigfoot” have been canvassing a 100-mile radius of Jackson looking for people to tell them stories and show them places where sightings have occurred.

Jen Green said that they have traveled hundreds of miles and were on their way to the Alabama state line Wednesday morning to follow up on a sighting.

“We have talked to people all over the state and we are looking for people to share their stories. Some people are hesitant to tell their stories because they think people wont believe them. We want to make it a safe place so that people will not feel intimidated,” Green said.

Filming will begin Jan. 11 and go through Jan. 18. One of the shows signature “town hall” meetings will be held on the evening of Jan 12., a Tuesday.

“We are looking for anyone who has a story or sighting of Bigfoot and would be willing to share their story with us on the show,” Green said.

Anyone with a Bigfoot sighting can contact the shows producers at [email protected] to inquire about participating in one of the shows town hall meetings.
